Acer lasts about 7-9 hours per charge depending on use.
Can go over 10 hours if all I do is read books.
All that from a 2 hour charge since I never let it dip below 20% where possible.

I just use my nexus 5 now though since personally I like the freedom of accessing and sorting my files on the go. But I'm a messy person, even with my files, so you can see how itunes appealed to me back then.

How many apps do you have installed? I think as you install more stuff, it'll bog down the system as it ties into services. That's my theory at least. My 4th gen iPod touch was pretty snappy at first, but some 400 installed apps later was lagging pretty hard.
I also just reset and upgraded an iPad 2 to iOS 9.3, and if it's supposed to now lag, it sure isn't showing anything like that.

It's actually not a flaw of Android itself, rather the choice of hardware that the manufacturers put into it.
Basically Android does support ultra low latency audio but you have to provide it in the hardware as well. It's more expensive and the majority of the manufacturers don't bother which means you can't buy with any surety that your device will have it.
