>>51358901
Don't have paint here to indicate but look at the spacing between the 9 o'clock marking and the day indices and the spacing between the 3 o'clock marking and the other (0-12) indice wheel. Very different, also the hour metal marking in general, the 4 o'clock is tied together with the round line whereas the 8 o'clock one is far more spaced.
>>
>>51358918
Neither do I really. I just have it set to GMT for now. When I went to Germany, it was pretty useful though, setting the 24hr hand to home time.

No one's really going to be looking or judging, and you barely notice the gmt hand for the most part. The Explorer II is kind of under the radar, I say that you'd look more like a poser if you bought a Submariner.

The old 16550's and 16570's look best with white dials, the new 216570, however, looks better with a black dial.
>>
>>51358901
Also look at that atrocious metal finish on the bottom lugs inside goddamn
>>
>>51358979
Get a balance wheel, hairspring assembly that fits your watch and operates at 8beats per second.
>>
>>51358979
I have no idea. I'm not a watchmaker, by any means.

I'm just guessing, that if you want to increase the total bpm, the problem would be within the number of teeth in the respective gears; more teeth = more beats = smoother sweep = greater precision = better accuracy. If it's running fast or slow, you can always nudge the regulator, but I don't think that actually increases of decreases the total number of beats.
>>
>>51358163
Not really, it's just fiddly and you need a lot of patience. You'll also need a few tools.

As for the date, I prefer the look of divers without a date window and it's a pain in the arse to set it when you haven't worn the watch for a while.

Unfortunately not going to happen. First of all, you'd need a new hairspring and balance which were coupled to vibrate at 4hz. Then, you'd need to replace basically the entire gear train. If all you did was get the balance to oscillate at 4hz the watch would run MASSIVELY fast as the gear train is only designed for 3hz. If you really want a movement that runs at 4hz, get a Chinese copy of a 2824 and either figure out a way to mod it in to that case or just buy a new case, dial and hands and make your own watch.
>>
>>51358989
yea that's true.. Come to think of it one of my managers is in St Luis and I'm in California so I guess that's a good enough reason maybe I'll try one on... I saw it on archieluxury and though it was really clean, usually I don't like the 24 hour markers on the bezel because it gets too 'busy' but I think what you've got doesn't kill my eyes with too much stuff I like it...

I have this Vostok as my allday-everyday watch.
ive been thinking about buying a seiko for some time but i only really like their divers and i think i allready have that covered with my vostok.
I also like the design of the Rodina a lot. i've been thinking about buying it for some time and right now its only 92 bucks.
does one of you have that watch?
should i buy it?

SBDC031, the Sumo update. Seems like all they did was upgrade the lume and slap the Prospex logo on it. Currently $424 but the MSRP is the same as the current Sumo so it'll probably come down in price. Also comes in blue as SBDC033.

Yeah that's what it is. The old Shogun was already diashield titanium so I'm not sure what the hell they did besides put the Prospex logo on it, that's dumb. At least when the updated the MM300 recently they added some new movement technology and added diashield coating to it, these other updated divers are pretty much the same shit. Hopefully that new SKX007 replacement someone posted here a while ago comes out soon, that one is at least a fully brand new model.

GPS devices only receive, they don't transmit anything. A device picks up radio signals from GPS satellites and uses them to trilaterate its on position, the satellites have no way of knowing that a device is even picking up their signal, much less where the device is.
