I would get 4 1GB DDR2 sticks of RAM and possibly a new AM2 heat sink because the ones I've seen on HP machines are garbage. What are your idle temps? Don't spend anymore than $50 total on upgrades. Beyond that, you're better off just getting a new CPU/Motherboard/RAM combo.

if the sticker's right, only you have only 1 MB Ram, try to obtain another ram stick to reach 2. An SSD will boost OS and data loading times. You have no discrete graphic (back pic). Installing even an arch old 6600gt (you probably could get one or better free) will help.

Having owned one of those pieces of shits, they're actually fully ATX compliant (PSU, motherboard, etc). My first self built rig used one as a base.
