Neither of these are GPUs since they lack T&L capability.

The first GPU I ever had was an AGP ATi card that I pulled from a server in the garage, I can't remember the exact model
The first GPU I bought was a Quadro FX 560

lol, you even kept incoming. what a shitty game that was. nice graphics, though.
Pic, the first dedicated 3d accelerator I bought myself. my pc came with a shitty ATI 3D Rage IIC 8 MB.
>>51314751
Pretty shitty (I could not run Tomb Raider 2 well) but the 75MHz Pentium and 8MB of RAM were pretty okay for other uses.

>lol, you even kept incoming. what a shitty game that was.
You can shut your whore mouth.
Incoming is a fucking great arcade game.
FX5200. That baby was my pride and joy, gave me hours of entertainment in Half Life and Day of Defeat. Presumably I played some other games around the same time but I can't remember them. Oh, AoE2.
All ended when CoD2 came out though. It would run it in DX7 mode at 800x600 quite happily, but I wanted more.

Voodoo was first card, way back on an Old Compaq where I spent my days in the basement playing Doom and the Resident Evil port. Text would always glitch out making it almost impossible to read in RE. Nothing Special would look like Something Special. Eventually I could read this foreign language.
Next card was 8600 GTS back in 06-07. That card is still alive and in use in my gf's pc because she doesn't use any video heavy rendering. I can't believe it still runs, but it do.
Then 560ti, great card though bought it when it was outdated.
Then 750ti, still bought it outdated. Both decent for economy price points.
Now I've got a Sapphire R9 390 Nitro and it's by far the nicest card I've had. I regret not checking out AMD sooner.
I guess my first card technically would be whatever was in my Uncles 3.1 machine that he handed over to me around W95 time. Fuck me if I know what it was though.
I got this card when the gtx 600 series was out, I am not very old or well off.
This thing

You'll be regretting that you checked them out at all pretty soon...

I'm first GPU is the one I use now. Sapphire HD 6850.

9500 gt is basically an 8500 gt lol complete shit. I had an 8500 Gt back in 2007.

I took that image for /vr/ back in a thread where someone tried getting it running on modern machines. I actually tried it right there, it played fine, kind of weird to control it from gamepads (every damn ship has different controls and I never could figure out how to map up everything properly).
>>51315034
>lol, you even kept incoming. what a shitty game that was. nice graphics, though.
It's an awesome little game, it just makes no fucking sense. In mission mode you have to figure out different controls on every single stage, due to using different crafts all the time. And in non-mission mode, you could just fly around and automatically mow down every single thing the game spawns with the autofire.
The graphics and the music were bad ass though. Especially the music.
I remember the same team did a top-down shooter, Expendable. I only ever played the demo of it, but it was great. It had the same insane particle effects though, which completely covered the screen in junk on the bigger explosions, and you couldn't see the actual game.
5200 GT. Bought it on a whim when I had no knowledge and it was on the shelf.
Didn't use it because it was AGP and my mobo used PCI. I'm ashamed of that purchase and many others in my early days.
The first "real" informed GPU buy was ATI 3650.

I don't think so Tim.

Voodoo 3 3500 was my first most memorable gpu. I had the All in Wonder at some point with the sweet video in/out pod
Shoved this into the family Gateway
Had it all the way until 2007
