I just built my first pc. What are the essential programs I should download? I already got winrar, a torrenting program, and a media player. I'm mostly looking for an anti-virus program.
VLC media player, Firefox 64/Waterfox, Steam.
Antivirus programs are memes, just get a javascript blocker (I use Ublock Origin)
If you're really dull and desperate enough to use antivirus, use NOD32. Everything else slows down your computer.
Just stick to software from the official repos and you should be fine

I plan on pirating games. Is there anything I should have that makes that safer when installing games? I don't want to accidentally install some spybot adware or whatever.
