Am I missing something? I never see pic related on here but the XPS gets shilled for days.
IBM x200
1/10th the price 1/2 the performance.

You gain a few luxuries with the XPS 13 for $150 more, but it really depends on what is your budget, what you need it for and what you feel content with.
>>51301035
Depends on variant of i7, could be typical sales trick "Oh, i7 inside!"
8 gb ram, nothing wrong there
512 gb ssd nothing wrong there
sexy, agreed.
What about milliamp battery hours - mAh?
Screen resolution?
Me myself would stop at $800, except when for gaming. Due the cpu's in the laptop do not really blow above that.

This has been bugging me as well, the difference of the new i3-6100u to the i7-6500u seems to be in only clock speed whilst the i3 is probably adequate for the majority of the task suited to the ultra books they're placed in.

The higher resolution is nice but I I guess I don't think I can survive on only 256 gb. Granted I could always upgrade...
it's not made of aluminium.
I want to buy this one but I could get a cheaper one with same specs that isn't convertible. Not sure if its worth paying extra for this so called 'gimmick'
>>51301035
k501lx for half the price. 256 gb ssd tho
>>51301551
Convertible laptops are a definitely a meme but I haven't found anything with the same specs and size (that part is important) for a better price. Haven't looked hard enough though.

I personally plan on getting an XPS 15, but I'm going for the cheaper option of going with an i5 and a 32GB/1TB SS/HD hybrid drive, as opposed to the i7 with a 256GB SSD. There's a $200 price difference between the two. i5 I can live with, and I can get a Samsung EVO SSD 250GB for $75. That saves myself $125, but at the same time I'll probably be voiding my warranty in the process.
