Hey /g/,
I was going to post this to /v/, but I wasn't sure which board would be best, so I went with this board.
My computer is kind of sucky. It has only a Core 2 Duo at 2.2Ghz and an AMD Radeon HD5450 1GB Silent Edition.
I realise these specs are awful, but what I don't get is why Team Fortress 2 runs so badly. On lowest possible settings on DirectX 8, I don't get a smooth framerate. It constantly drops below 30, and I can rarely keep it stable at 60.
Is there something up with my card or something? Any suggestions? I can provide more specs if you need them.

CPU is fine, get a 750TI for cheap and your framerates will shoot up.
The 5450 is worse than modern IGPs

Many problems with that solution. My motherboard is fucked as there's a transistor blocking most graphics cards, and my case won't allow room for anything that isn't low profile.

I have an older 2007 business pc i got for 40 bucks and threw a 750 ti in it put in all my spare parts i had lying around and its not half bad it has a core 2 duo 5gb of ram its a decent pc for simple things

C2D machines don't have AGP as they require at least a 945 chipset.

What is your motherboard model? I can't think of any with capacitor placement being in the way of anything.
