JavaScript is objectively the most elegant and expressive programming language ever conceived it is literally perfect in every way imaginable.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great language and by far my favorite, but at its core it's a really shitty language.

And that's part of what makes it beautiful and fun to program in. It's like if Brainfuck got a standard library and became something you could feasibly get things done with. It would still be a shitty language, but damn if it wouldn't be fun to work in.

Graphically beautiful! but sonically it lacks fluidity.

>>51281953
This. Your example is pretty bad but Python is a lot more "beautiful" than Lua. I've used both extensively and find the Lua fanboyism is pretty misplaced here. Lua is minimal and fast, but this minimalism along with its verbosity doesn't result in beautiful code IRL, just code that's too long. Many algorithms that are clear and concise in Python become harder to read in Lua because of that length.

You do know significant whitespace in Haskell is optional, right? So is functional programming, just add a "do" in front of your code and get on with your life...
main = do { putStrLn "You are such a..."; putStrLn "Faggot" };

Why would anyone ever invent language for which indentation is part of syntax?Using no brackets? That is the most hipster and gay paradigm i ever saw and I will deny it forever.
Which languages have that? Ruby?
>>
>>51287428
>Why would anyone ever invent language for which indentation is part of syntax?

they're easier to parse
>>
>>51287526
So they force this shitty unintuitive rule on programmers so that complier can save a whole 1(one) second of its time?
>>
>>51285299
Java?
>>
>>51287526
So the time they saved doing a complex parser is paid by the users cumulative adding a bunch more time fixing indentation.

Sucks.

If it wasnt' because of that, I'd really love Python, because its very useful for many things, its easy and has a plethora of libraries, but I can't really understand the reasoning behind the indentation thing.
