Is this windows 10 as dangerous as people says?
I have just 4 GB of ram, and I'm using Fedora as my main OS. Using atocad at virtual machine/with wine was terrible
But I had option to install win10 for free as a student of university which taken part in some program.
I have legal windows 10 as a second system.
Is there any reason to believe that if I download some music to win10 partition sad mans in blue uniforms would come to my house?
What about games?
The privacy concerns are massively overblown. Source: bachelor's degree in computers

If anything they're underblown, the majority of people don't even know about it, or care enough to know.
OP, if you care about your rights to privacy, don't use Windows 10. Simple.

if you are used to linux stay with it.
If its for games or compatibility use win7
if you want the newest shit including DirectX 12 and an OS that can talk to you on a level of a 4 year old kid, check out win10

As I said, I need it for running autocad and visual studio for university purpose.
I'm just wondering if it would allow me to play unpaid music.
>>51268456
I don't have a problem with that.

CS bachelor's here, been using W10 since the release.
So far I've been able to use all pirated shit (games, movies, music, ebooks) I've always been using, without any problems, prompts, reports, suspicious net activity and such. This whole privacy thing has been blown massively out of proportions.

The fuck it has. The fact that you think so proves the point of the opposition.
No one is watching what you're doing or searching through the data on your machine, that would be retarded.
What is actually happening is all of your data is being systematically "learned" so that ads can be better targeted to your advertising id.
It has nothing to do with having something to hide, and everything to do with the principle of your right to privacy. It doesn't actually have an effect on you, but if we let this train go, God knows what will happen to us in the future. 1984 is pretty far off, but a similar circumstance isn't out of the question within 10 years or so.

Your not wrong

I enjoy the pragmatism and agree with you on that note, but the TPP has worse of an effect on the Legal matters than the "advertisement" purposes of Win10 and other platforms. At least in regard too OP's paranoia. If this is too turn into a debate on privicy right thread then all be it I will fight with you on that point. But OP's question is answered with "Nobodey is watching you right now or cares about you porn habits or Shit music taste."
>>51268229
what are some /g/ approved alternatives?
>>51268983
Put on your Fedora
>>51268063
Music files won't get the men coming to your house Win 10 will monitor them then report them for telemetry so you will get junk mail ads galore.
For games use Steam for Linux, if you insist on Windows, go Win 7. Or just stay open source.
