I just got a new job, and they're giving me a work desktop for my office. I'm allowed to install any operating system I want. Obviously I can't be trusted to make such an important decision, so I'm leaving it to you.
Doubles decides what OS I install on my work computer.
Only two rules:
1) It has to be some kind of Linux. I'd be open to some kind of BSD too, but apparently I'll be working in the Linux kernel, so I'm going to stick with Linux for now.
2) It has to be "usable". I use that word very loosely though. Mostly I mean currently maintained and secure enough. I don't really give a shit about stability.
tldr; getting a free work computer for my new job, gonna install Linux on it, doubles decides what distro

Wow, that was quick. I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't end up with something ridiculous.
I start Wednesday, so depending on how things go, I'll post an update on how things went. I might not be able to keep ArchBSD just because I'm going to be working a lot with the Linux kernel for this job, but I'll just install Arch Linux if it doesn't work out.

Oh shit, I didn't see your doubles. If ArchBSD doesn't work out, I'll use Kali instead of Arch Linux. It'll probably stress my coworkers the fuck out and make them paranoid, but they'll get over it.

Yeah, no. I would get laughed out of the office if I used Windows 7. Literally everyone I've met so far at my new job uses Linux, even the HR person. There aren't enough doubles in the world to make me do that.
