What can vim do that Atom and the likes can't

vi/vim/vime is standard on every linux distro, is tiny, massively powerfull, and requires almost no resources to run.
Atom may be good but vim is a time-tested classic that people build their entire workflows around.
You don't need a window manager / X windows instance to run vim.

Different strokes and shit.
I use vim for quick and dirty shit.
If I need to edit a config, quickly make a file or ssh into a server and edit something, I can just whip open vim in under a second.
I use atom for uni projects for building things with multiple files.
Be around for more than a decade.
