Hello /g/, I am interested in purchasing a laptop that is well worth the money. I would be using it for school work and video editing and recording for my YouTube channel. If you could recommend a laptop that isn't overpriced that would be great. Also it should have at least 2 usb ports.
Link the youtube channel and I'll help you.

Not going to risk it.

Modded Chromebook. Most are less than 300 bucks, have plenty of RAM for video editing, and can run Windows or Linux with a really easy firmware update.

For 500, go with a T420.

T420 is best for any budget.
All jokes aside, they can be had for under $200, with a quad core SandyBridge CPU, 4GB-8GB RAM, and an SSD. Really the best bang for your buck.

Seconding a 420 or 430. Will you use it for gaming? Is it for school video editing? If yes, then most schools have some reserved desktops for video editing. Also, you do not need a powerful computer for amateur video editing. My friend does it on a MBA and he uploads 3min clips every week.
