Can somebody explain, in depth, why CS is seen as being pleb in comparison to x Engineering?

>why CS is seen as being pleb
only on /g/ is this true.

All freshmen STEMfags are equally pathetic. You only get bragging rights once you get past the first year.
>>
Just anally-angered autists who went to college and have a superiority complex.
>>
CS is a meme degree and everyone and their mother can learn to program now.

Because /g/ autism

That's true, but the difference is the willingness to actually do useful stuff.

CS is being flooded with idiots because it has the potential to be a high earning degree.

Tip a lot of managers / project leads at larger software companies don't get their degrees in CS. They do EE or something else.

Why would somebody wanting to work for a software company get an EE degree? I don't understand.
>>
engineers have always looked down on scientists
>>
Two reasons: one is a lot why engineering is because shit. People were told that x degree has great pay and job prospects. So naturally people flood into these degrees, killing the job prospects, leading to people making the observation that it's no longer a good degree. Second, pure STEMfags have an obnoxious superiority complex, even when it comes to others in their collective.

My understanding is that CS offers you a lot more personal freedom. With Engineering, you're tied down to working with large firms, and if you decide to quit one day, your reputation is damaged.

With CS, you can hop around from large to tiny companies, working on various things. CS seems more free and interesting. What do you guys think about this idea?

It's not very good honestly
(sorry anon)

ANYONE can easily learn to code. EEs already have at least a basic understanding of coding. What companies really want are people that can think and solve problems. EEs have to go through a tough curriculum to get their degrees, they're qualified. Whereas CS is just flooded with retards thinking they'll get easy money when they graduate. Because of all the retards in CS, their curriculum is dumbed down even more. EEs may require more initial investment by training and etc, but they're worth it in the long run.
Really, CS is grouped with the IT and Information System/Science/whatever, they're just slightly barely better than IT/IS.
