Does ublock origin or adblock actually block ads or does it just hide them while the advertisers still get the shills from my clicks?

Actually prevents them from loading.

>>50792273
does google own adblock now
>>

Tip: ignore uHide memers
>>
>>50792226
Why would they? It would be bad for the advertiser since they'd have to pay the site owner for you having loaded the page, except with no chance of you going out and buying their product.

Nah, they could allow YouTube ads for example, allow some Google ads, block all yahoo/etc. ads -> profit

It could be possible that Google bought AdBlock.

uHide just hides ads. To vlock them use a propper ad blocker like ABP. Here are some useful links:

Fuck you, that's half the reason why I block ads. The sooner they realize people can fuck with them on a large scale, the sooner they fuck off.
>>
>>50793527
this, I really don't give a shit as long as I don't see any ads

ublock more like uhide. i mean there is no denying it at this point the only thing that is being blocked by this extension are the pictures. inb4 abp shill.i dont even know how people can use a "blocker"(read as hider) that is literally worse than not using an adblocker.

First intelligent hosts file user I've ever seen.
Fucking hosts diehards fail to realize that it can't into cosmetic and rule-based filtering so you still need something like uBlock Origin to compliment it.

Press Ctrl + Shift + Q and see for yourself if it is either preventing the scripts/files from loading or not.
