I gave it a go a week ago and it wouldn't update seeding status for me at all for one tracker and would sporadically not update a few other torrents on another...and that's over a period of a couple days and with restarting the client. I switched over to uTorrent and all of my torrents updated their status like they should. 100% of them.
It's not a meme. The program is literally shit. If you'd do a search about v3.2.3 not updating seeding status you'll see that this has been an ongoing issue for months now (at the least).

Easiest way to get tons of buffer without freeleech on WCD is to fill requests. Find a request where some guy links a place (bandcamp or some other online store) where you can buy the album he wants and then if you're willing to spend money, buy it and then upload it for easy buffer.
Most requests like these can net you 10-25GB. You'll have to be fast though because people will fill these fast.
Of course, it defeats the point of piracy to pay for something but such is life in WCD.

What let's you download 20 GB of music. Twenty Gigabytes (ok technically Gibibytes) of music before you you need to even upload 1 byte.
You can download 20 GB of you favorite music, even in FLAC that that's like 50 albums, and then all you have to do is seed it. You will eventually get upload from these, which allows you to get even more music, which will get you even more upload.
All you have to do is SEED. That's apparently the hardest part for people.
