how does it feel that 3DCG artist know more technology than most people on /g/?
to be a decent artist in 3DCG you have to know:
-math (geometry/trigonometry)
-programming (scripting and custom addon creation)
-sever admin (you have to create a server farm to get that rendering fast)
-optimization (calculating the best polygon quantity in a 3D work)
useful but not tech related:
-art basics (anatomy, light, colors, perspective)
-sculpting
-multitasking (most of them know about modeling, rendering, shading, drafting)

Not technology.
-programming (scripting and custom addon creation)
Scripting is simple as fuck, very few 3DCG artists go into addon creation which is actually technical.
>-sever admin (you have to create a server farm to get that rendering fast)
Handled by the IT department.
>-optimization (calculating the best polygon quantity in a 3D work)
Not technology.

Blender is used in some professional environments to make top quality 3D art/work
it's used in human forensics too

None of the colosi were that big in canon.
Not even the biggest one. I doubt the biggest one would reach the knee of the one in that image.
