When apple releases this shit 5 years from now, everyone will shit themselves yelling innovation! innovation!

I fucking hate this shit.

Hololens is badass

friendly reminder that the microsoft illumiroom shits all over strapping a dumb screen to your face and was only dropped because all of the children here can't afford anything more than some dumb $200 pair of ski goggles

True, nobody cares unless there's an appled drawn on it :^)

looks boring, i don't want one
>>
I cant wait to sit in an empty room starting at a blank wall.
>>
>>47760646
it was dropped because it was fucking stupid m8.

why the fuck would I want a projector to shit all over my room with obnoxious effects and give me screen glare?
>>
>>47760654
you've got to admit though, Steve Jobs and his team can make things very ergonomic and the learning curve as flat as a paper
He wasn't the one that invent tablet, but the one that made it pen-free and efficient

But After Jobs die, it will be very hard for Apple to replicate that magic again
>>
>>47760681
This so much
>>
>>47760749
>screen glare

so you have no idea what you are talking about? makes sense for someone who cant afford a large tv and a projector.
>>
>shitposting, keeping up on the news and watching porn simultaneously from my whole house without having to carry a small screen around

I like it. Shame, im too lazy to walk around.
>>
Did you see the pathfinding robot/hologram thing they showed on the keynote? It looked like bullshit to me. This whole thing of scanning the room looks like pure scifi to me
>>
>>47760894
>Not doing all of that while rolling around in bed

Step up your degeneracy
>>

Did apple ever invent anything? they are the masters of marketing and perfecting already existing tech so retards can use them.

I can't think of anything that was an original idea from apple.
>>
>>47761055
The gui? Most of the early advances in home computing? Nothing recently though.
>>
>>47761074
Xerox invented the GUI
>>
This is it. The age is approaching.
>>
>>47760654
Does it sour your anus that Applel knows how to make an image?

I alway lel when I see your empty M$ stores that look like Applel rip offs and seeing lines of people waiting outside of the applel store.

I love seeing Microshit finally getting rekt for its crime against humanity.

Now I just need Chromebooks to rekt the low end of the laptop biz (they are) and Macbooks to crush the high end (apparently Macbooks are growing in numbers) and leave Windows laptops in the dust of the irrelevant middle ground.
>>
>>47760458
I know "hurr durr M$hit", but still; this is actually pretty cool.
>>
Yeah what's the latency on this shit. How fast can I turn my head without it fucking up.
>>
>>47761165
Um, I don't know about you, but I sure don't don't see "Apple fanboys masturbate here" in the OP.
How about we stick to talking about VR UIs?
>>
>>47760458
Wait, does this mean that I can finally lose digital things like I lose my keys?

Like what? all they did was to sell already existing tech on a prettier package.

There's a pack for you, anon-san.

Now watch the technology stagnate because it's windows only and nobody can develop a proper VR interface.
>>
Pretty cool, I'd buy one. The only problems

>Apple
>inventing anything at all, ever
>especially in the early years of computing
Both Microsoft and Apple stole fucking everything they had during the early years of computing. If you weren't Bell Labs, Xerox, or IBM, you didn't invent fucking anything.

Woz was great, though nothing he made did anything new, it just did it cheaper or faster than the alternatives.
>>
>>47761461
Of course it's 3d ready otherwise there's no point, the camera is probably recording from a single lens.
>>
>>47761616
But can you play games with it?
>>
>>47761631
shutup, /v/
>>
>>47761670
You misunderstand.
If it's suitable for vidya, then it's superb for my quadcopter for example.
Low latency is important.
>>
>>47761685
muh vidya
>>
>>47761631

shitty Windows Store games maybe
>>
>called hololens
>they're not actually holograms

it wont work, lenses have never worked and they never will. It's culturally wrong to cover the face. Deal with it.

Plus that latency and obtrusive gestures.

>You wave the hand from excitement and all windows minimize, giving you an enormous lag and then eveything goes blank for a moment.
>Slowly you walk around your room putting everything back again but the more heavy apps are a pain to load
>wave your finger rapidly to maximize screens but the lag forces you to do very finicky movements otherwise the machine wont recognize the input
>>
I would only use this as a monitor replacement, KB+M is powerful and I don't want to waste time walking around.

This. Why so you think search features became very popular when OS X 4 and Win 7 came out? It took us that long to realize the quickest way to get a program you want is to type it's name and press enter.
>>
>>47762174
That was a concept. What they showed in OP's video is more realistic.
>>
>>47760984
The room scanning part was deceiving. The robot doesn't do the scan, yet the animation 'pulses' from the robot. I don't think it's completely bullshit, there is technology that allows you to scan an environment with a camera and turn it into a 3D model. Once you got the model you should be able to navigate it, kinda like you use navmeshes on unreal or unity engine.
>>
Eh it might take off but it would be better if the eye goggles, or any sort of glasses was needed.
>>
>>47762517
Wasn't needed
