If you disable the Asus browser (as in disable it in app settings) and use Chrome you'll easily get 7-8 hours of screen on time, which isn't fantastic but perfectly fine for a full day of use.

Trying to decide between M9 and Nexus 6. Narrowed it down to these two because of developer support, I love tinkering. Nexus is huge but obviously will have best Dev support because its nexus. m9 is new so limited Roms and such, but looks promising...

It's got all kinds of software issues unless you root it and go digging which I did because I love doing that.
Once that's out of the way it's an excellently built device with fantastic performance thanks to the SD810.
Also surprisingly enough the curve does make a difference in daily use and especially makes portrait use much nicer and if it falls face down there's no chance of the screen shattering.
If you like modding I recommend it, if you don't, don't bother.

Have a Note 4, fucking love this thing. Not only the best phone I've ever bought, but probably the best piece of technology I've ever bought unless you count my self-built PC. I really hope Samsung doesn't fuck up the Note 5 like they did the S6.
