Post the best phone you've ever owned pre smartphones.
Pic related. Considering picking up a refurb and ditching smartphones and all the shit that comes with them.
Dis bad boy.
I still have it, working fine, but I needed to be able to monitor my mails on the road, so I had to leave it in a drawer.

Oh God, I miss you old pal, I'm sorry I dropped you on a concrete floor for the 100'th time. So sorry I killed you by accident
>>47145574
Oh yes.
I remember I once dropped it and it stopped functioning completely. I was so mad I purposefully dropped it again but harder, and it worked perfectly again. Lasted me another 3 years after that time.
If only smartphones did that...
>>47145551

pic related was supposed to be this Motorola SLVR
This bad boy. The phone was tiny for the standard at the moment. It had a pretty high resolution screen, and the blueish back light was cool as fuck.
I abused the hell out of it, it was unbreakable. Battery lasted for days, I must have sent tens of thousands of text messages with this phone to half the girls at my high school back when.
Yeah, I remember the days when text messaging was the best thing. Feeling like a fucking secret agent, receiving messages from friends, in your pocket, without anyone knowing. I could type out a message without even looking at the phone. In class, I could have the phone under the table and tap out a message without looking at it.
So many exciting news, turns and twists, and plans all came through on a monochrome dot matrix display in one hundred and sixty characters. My childhood, all of my friends, through corded landlines phones and text messages on mobile phones. What an exiting time it was to be a teenager. Free of all the fear and preconceptions about all the Shit kids have to deal with today. Just being young, and curious, wondering what's out there, waiting to explore. Free from a paranoid fear of rape and murder and creeps and stalkers and strangers. It was a different time. A much more innocent time.
The days of instant messaging, and online forums, and dial up Internet. When you started icq, and saw some of your friends were online, you actually wanted to talk with someone. Not like today. Today, everyone is online all the time, and nobody really wants to talk anymore. You now need a reason or an excuse to chat with someone. You no longer do it because it was exciting to do so.
>>47145574
This. Fell out of my pocket at least once a week at basketball practice, but it just kept on trucking. Never used the media features but that big screen was awesome.
>>47145527
I had this and fucking LOVED it!!
And then I lost it :c
Loved that phone.
It had an amazing speaker, i would grab a traffic cone and use it as an audio booster for the loudest mobile music.
>>47145984
same shit happened to mine
RIP 2004-2009
This.
I will also forever love the first phone I had - Siemens C35.

I still have it, it works too, too bad i cant use it anymore as a back up phone because of micro sim bull shit.
Underrated phone. Also the W950i was amazing.

The fucking stylus was so gimmicky man I can't believe it was a main reason why I purchased it.
>Posted from my Note 4
I used this for a while, it cost me 25 bucks. Lightweight and good battery. Sends and receives SMS and calls. What the fuck more do you want?
>>47147198
>Sends and receives SMS and calls
No one uses either of those anymore.
Good for killing hobos and derailing trains.
>>47147231
>No one uses either of those anymore.
>he doesn't have free SMS
What will you do when there's no WiFi, bitchboi?
Why are Sony Ericsson's so baller?
>>47146970
The days when even mIRC was big and normalfags were smart enough to use command line to join a server and channel. Also I always associate # with IRC channels. Fuck twitter and all that shit.
>>47147275
he'll probably use his LTE connection, retard
Space Impact is the GOAT phone game.
I had this beast in middle school, I felt so cool thinking my phone had a spoiler from that unnecessary hump.
>>47145955

>>47147740
the same thing anyone does when there's no cellular service
>>47147740
Then he most likely wouldn't be able to call someone either.
>>47147024
i know man, the duo k750-w800 was the absolute shit in their time (they both had the same hardware)
i wish it was 2004 again just to have it as the best cellphone you can get
>>47145536
Muh nigga, I remember flashing the walkman player from the w800i by following a guide on the internet. This phone caused me to get into the psp hacking "scene" as well.
>>47145955
I miss those days so much. But fuck it much fun was had.
>>47147402
This, Mine was £180, Still got a bollocking still worth it.
>>47145955
>someone who used cell phones in school is nostalgia'ing
shit im old
Mobile phones have always been shit and always will. From the old radio can't hear shit piles of crap to today's LOLINTERNET NSA botnet phones, they've never been worth using.
>>47146176
So? OP only asked to post phones from the pre-smartphone aka iphone era. What if your first and favorite phone was smartphone?
>>47145955
>those last words about talking online
right now i'm looking at my old ass communicator program where i have three contacts that i'm still talking with sometimes.
one of them just sends me funny pictures, never really talk about anything anymore;
second one just complains about his hard life, can't have a fun conversation anymore;
third one is sometimes capable of fun talk, but he's rarely there.
even few years ago we were still having long, fun conversations about whatever we can
of course i have facebook, but i don't have any idea who could keep conversation about random things
and i'm not antisocial, i could talk about anything. it's probably just how it works when people are finishing college, getting jobs and shit
i don't even have anybody to talk with about it, so i'm posting it on imageboard where nobody cares
congratulations
i'm depressed now
I was just thinking about this earlier today. This phone never betrayed me.
>>47146038
This ;_;
sorry I sold you buddy
>>47145429
Holy shit me too right down to the gb emulation!
I still have it somewhere but the battery's long dead
>>47146480
He'll yes. The W580i, I absolutely loved that phone!
Texting friends for no apparent reason, sharing shitty mp3's via bluetooth and taking godly phone pictures.
And it also had LED's on the side, that could light different colors, depending on what you were doing or who called you. It also had live backgrounds, and it could say a neat melody every time you opened it up.

Glad to see more Sony Ericsson. k700i here.
Any pre smartphone worth buying nowadays?
>>47147306
Best game ever
>>47146480
>>47149306
I fucking loved this phone. when i was 14 i really wanted this phone and my mom surprised me with it. It was the white one. Sony erricson has some of the coolest designs. They still look cool today, they were the pinnacle of the pre smart phone era.
cellphones used to be bold and beautiful.
smartphones are all literally the same bland design.
The Motorola v180 was my first cell phone
I actually kinda miss it...
>>47149306
Samesies, had this thing in orange.
pretty sure it's still here somewhere.
>>47145399
I still actually use this phone for calling and sms. I've had it since late 2010. The battery still holds charge for at least a week. Even has a 4gb sd card. Only problem with SE were their proprietary charging ports and lack of a headphone plug.
>every goddamn sms I ever got on it is still on that phone
I use a smartphone as well with a data only SIM.
Not much fun anymore.
The K800i, the firmware/OS on it was solid. Had many different carriers models (unlocked) and although the buttons and menu options were subtly different, the thing always performed brilliantly.
I recently (2 weeks ago) abandoned the robust, well thought out and bloat free world of the dumbphone and brought a moto g. Replacing pic related. The elm just couldn't keep up with what i needed.
NEVA4GET
>>47146480
MUH NEGRO
