Give me one reason why I should use another DE.
>>46900390
Well, you can use no DE. I personally use only openbox with tint2 panel.
>>46900390
No. You should use whatever DE you like and works for you.
semite os running on self built rig with "no ricing" because OSX just werks

gnome is okay tier.
personally, i find the iconset shit, the fonts mehr and the tray area sized icons painful to look at and potentially hard to click. i bet you end up launching the terminal instead of transmission occasionally
but as far as loonixes go GUI wise, it's alright. it's usable.
I want to live in the Shire with hobbitfu.

I know from my own experience that gnome3 is more functional than os x panel wise
>>46900660
how so?
>>46900682
OS X steals screen realestate because it uses 2 panels, unlike gnome 3 which uses one(1)

colors are hard, thanks thoug
do you mean integration of term colors in other places, change the theme itself, contrast to background, or all of the above

Your colorscheme looks very generic...
I haven't made up my mind of what DE to use.
>>46900707
>Screen Real Estate
Such a retarded Concept. You Don't get money for unused screen areas. And both the dock and the top menu auto hide, plus OS X apps are optimized for full screen use, hence more functional. Sry mate

hi kiiro
nice desktop
>>46900848
Loose the lolcat, it does not fit in this context. Chrome theme should be flatter. And panel fonts and elements more similar to the names colour in irc. The colourscheme itself is actually okay.

are they now?
What matters more is that the gnome3 person had a choice of which DE to choose, you have none and therefore very little personality - something of which you would presume from an OS usually used by graphic designers and video montageurs.
>>46900986
U wot. I could use another DE or OS if I wanted to. I actually have a dual boot setup with win8 and several VMs with various loonies. your point is a little retarded

does anyone else here use horizontal tiling like this?
I find it works a lot better with my aspect ratio than vertical, but IDK how it would with a normal 16:9 / 16:10 screen
>>46901202
I honestly haven't used windows since I first tried linux . Less than 2 years ago. I built a new computer and installed windows. every 24 hours I'd get a random BSOD. Was wantint to try lunix. Gave wubi ubuntu shit a shot. left it on for a few days. No crash. Haven't gone back to windows since. got rid of the wubi and unity crap of course. if I played games. I'd prob have windows on just for that.
>>46901212
desktop threads are another story, linux desktops are easier to customize, so they come here to show what theive done.
windows on the other hand is not so (kind of) easy to customize so they really dont bother with it

strawpoll could be a slight kind of a hit and miss, a more accurate way of getting the data would be to list all of the visitors browser ua's.
