I'm pretty familiar with iSCSI in VMware. How easy is it in Hyper-V?
>>
>>46889165
Virtualbox.
Chose it because it's open source. Kept using it because it always worked.
>>
>>46889481
hyper-v is something like virtualbox and vmware.

if he was talking about esxi, then yes hyper-v would be a discussion

I'm drunk and I love you
>>
>>46889165

Virtualbox sucks ass. It can't pxe boot. I guess none of the pro bono developers thought it would be a fun project to get that working..

Open source is code word for half assed
>>
>>46889165

Isn't vmware being sued for violating the gpl?

>open source
>we're not in it for the money
>why don't you give us money?
>I'll sue you to get my money!

ESXi master race.
>>

I can't for the life of me manage to get Hyper-V to install an OS from a flash drive. Proper drive format, proper ISO, proper mounting as a virtual drive, it just doesn't happen for me.

Hyper-V can suck my dick

Virtualbox has been ridiculously buggy for the past year or so. Just check their forums.
Also less features than VMware, more fucking around with "Vboxmanage" and most things run slower (try to use USB).

If I wanted to run a bunch of vm's with hardware passthrough, should I muck around with xen and Ubuntu server or install a os designed to run a bunch of vm's?

>>
>>46891872
You can use either xen, kvm, or vmware.
Ive done gpu passthrough on all of them.

Synology NASs are getting Docker in the next update. I thought it was only for virtual applications and not VMs as a whole?
