Aliens must be confused why we are intent on bombarding ourselves with radiation 24/7
>>
>>46834629
Not as bad as burning the earth's supply of fossil fuel in 150 years
>>
>>46834656

not to mention 3G and 4G and all that other shit that hasnt been in the air but for 10 years and we do not know the full effects yet.

>Non-ionizing (or non-ionising) radiation refers to any type of electromagnetic radiation that does not carry enough energy per quantum to ionize atoms or molecules—that is, to completely remove an electron from an atom or molecule.

Cellular telephones cause brain tumors I heard about it on fox news.

Physics phd here...

The possible negative impact is largely unexplored. There have been no scientific studies (i.e. unbiased and statistically sufficient).

Personally I think it's probably not (very) harmful, but there's some possibility that's not true. What I am sure of is that we have much bigger health problems.
>>
>>46834739
no it just so happens that people who spend large amounts of time around cell towers daily all seem to develop brain tumors much faster than the rest of the population.

Really?? Well, you're posting on 4chan, so it must be true.
>>
>>46834791
Maybe, but the same holds for people living close to large power installations (and cables).

Overall, the risk is negligible. As a society we're more than willing to sacrifice tens of thousands each year in order to have traffic on the roads or factories running.

We'll see in 100 years whether they laugh and shake their heads at us or not.
>>
sunlight shining on your house is worse than wifi going through your walls
>>
>>46834629
All of the nonionizing radiation in the world combined isn't as big of a health risk as getting hit with a single gamma particle emitted from a far-off supernova
>>
It causes autism.

>I don't know what radiation is or how it works
Then maybe this is a thread you should be lurking instead of posting in
>>
>>46834868
This.
Actually, normal light is more dangerous than radio (or wifi/cellular) waves. Turn off your lights or you'll get cancer!
>>
I am not a chemfag or biofag, or physicsfag, just a fag.

The main worry around all forms of EM radiation for health is about how they interact with any of the compounds involved in DNA(Mitochondria included) replication, were redundancy is very limited. Replication of mistakes made there is what constitutes cancer. Every other function has some degree of redundancy, where mistakes don't usually replicate and thus can afford some damage.

>>46834685
All forms of radiation have the potential to corrupt compound structures, given a big enough time frame. It is the magnitude of that potential in regards to the relevant compounds that makes radiation dangerous or not.
>>
>>46834777
There have been studies you retard

>>46834791
Nice facts and citations to back up that claim

OP, just take a look at the electromagnetic spectrum. Visible light has more energy than wifi.

um all you have to do is seeing the rising instances of degeneracy in western countries that have all of these electronics

wifi/3g/4g/cellphone/radio/microwave ovens/the list goes on and on and you're expected to believe these people that it's safe when they've never shown any proof or evidence it is
>>
>>46834629
Experts claim radiation emitted by the sun is greater but you don't see any one checking facebook by connecting their phone to the sun. Fucking lunatics I tell you and they have the nerve to call themselves experts? Hilarious.
>>
>>46834989
>Visible light has more energy than wifi.
Visible light also has more energy than Microwave and IR.
>>
>>46834985
>All forms of radiation have the potential to corrupt compound structures
Yeah, but anything weaker than ultraviolet can't even penetrate your skin
>>
>>46835016
>checking facebook by connecting their phone to the sun
They do in the developing world.
>>
>>46834985
>>46834965

The frequency of wifi and cellular are lower than visible light. There is literally a greater chance that you'll get nuked by a router's LED lights than from its emitter
>>
>>46835035
You're arguing that radio waves can't penetrate human bodies?
>>
>>46835051

Your entire existence as a whole won't make a difference on the course of the universe, or even the world as a whole. Who gives a damn.
>>
>>46835060
Well, at least cause any damage.
>>
>>46835093
What do you think would happen if you pumped 1kW of 2.4GHz radio waves into a piece of the human body?

Hint: put your hand in a microwave
>>
>>46835027
And microwaves and IR aren't harmful to humans. The entire fucking universe is being blasted by microwaves constantly.

It's only dangerous when you get a shit load of it at high intensity e.g. microwave ovens, enough to cause us to heat up.
>>
>>46835139
What do you think would happen if I pumped 1mW of 1mKg worth of cum into your mums anus and vagina?

Hint: Go look at her now.

Fair enough, but there's significantly less radio waves, which of course are weaker than microwaves.
And if it is discovered that it's actually harmful, then I'll get cancer and die sooner, it's not gonna stop me.
>>
>>46835207
Right. Like water and salt, wifi frequency radio waves can kill you -- just not in the concentrations you'd be able to get from any normal exposure.
