Always felt really uncomfortable for me, for some reason.
The colors aren't surreal so much as just "off", and having actually walked in fields like that, I know they tend to be very wet. Cut grass doesn't just go nowhere, it gets stuck to you. The terrain is uneven if they've ever had livestock in it, lots of holes.
Not comfortable to walk through or lay in. Though it's obviously better in summer or fall than mid-late spring.

I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU / Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU + Linux.
