for me since i do some coding and some gaming, it's a better all around device. i used to have a small chiclet keyboard and sometimes i miss that, but that's a nightmare to use for gaming.

Mechanical keyboards give typing a more tactile feel. Going back to rubber dome keys they feel really mushy. It's worth the investment.

Gaming Laptops are worse than pre-built gaming desktops because you can't customise them easily. It comes down to the fact that in 4 years, when games advance to the point where your laptop can't handle them, you can't just buy a new card and throw it in (you could in a desktop). I'm just saying, it's not a good investment.
