MPV is a command-line only program keep that in mind so without a front-end you will have to launch all videos with the terminal or by clicking on the file. There's nothing to drag and drop a video into.
Mad-VR is a set of video-processing and enhancement filters, it really does make the video look better, it basically causes it to display the true colors it was meant to have instead of an approximation of the color (sRGB) and has some subjectively nice filters that can be tweaked if you dont like the instagram look thing.

I understand what you are saying but this is really retarded. All the desktops and gui we have are so much inferior than cli that there is next to no hope it becomes one day nearly as powerful.
