So /g/, I have been using this mouse for the past 5 years. I'm in dire need of a replacement, it's double clicking on accident, missing clicks,.. getting reckt.

Recommendations on high DPI, simple and feel-good-in-hand mouse?

Got this bought for me. I really like it. Feels nice in the hand, nice tactile feel. Can change dpi as required, just nice all round feel.

But no doubt some faggots on this board will tear it to shreds.

Buying a rival on Monday. Not OP btw
>>
>>45397142
have you tried fixing the switches?
might still have some life left in it if that's the only problem you're having.
>>
>>45397194
why? Is that the Rival?
How is the grip?

>>45397210
Mmm. This looks futuristic, sure. but the looks of the rival are better to me..

>>45397240
Open up the bottom?
>>
>>45397223

It's a damn fine mouse, I really like it.

>>45397245
It is the Rival - and the grip is good, comfortable and fits my the contours of my hand quite well. I have quite short stubby fingers too, and it fits. My bro who bought it me has long bony fingers and says it's the most comfortable mouse he has ever used, and he lives on his PC.
>>
>>45397298
Great! Guess I'm convinced!
>>
>>45397365
there's lots of talk about the rubber wearing down after not that long on the rival
it's cheap for a reason

Replaced my Mamba with a G700s. Do not regret. At all.

I tried a SteelSeries Sensei prior to getting the G700s and hated it. Was too light and had a shit shape when compared to the Mamba, G700s was a much better transition.

Damn OP, mine is also 5 years and is really acting up. Been doing that for like half a year or so but yesterday shit just went nuts.

Being a hybrid between claw and palm grip the mx518/g500 fitted me the best.

G500 is the one I've been using and I simply can't live without the scroll, both frictionless and 3clicks on it.

It hurts to say it but I'm going to get Logitech G502 Proteus Core, wish it didn't look all "EXTREME GAMUR LEDS N SHIT COOL YO".
>>
>>45397886
>Was too light
You're silly but the 502 is heavy as fuck so get that one.
>>
>>45397928
I'm not kidding. Threw me right the fuck off from the start. The Mamba is fairly heavy, which I got used to after 1-2 years. After switching to the Sensei I found it incredibly hard to use properly because of the lack of weight, and ended up switching back to the (partly broken) Mamba after a week.

Believe it or not, weight actually does make a difference, nonsensical as it seems.
>>
>>45397951
Oh I believe it, it's just that most people are usually on the look for a lighter mouse and not a heavier one.
>>
FK1 if you like a WMO shape or Rival if you like a Dadder shape. FK1 is more of a 'no-bullshit' kinda deal whearas the Rival has a few more fancy bits and pieces like a configuration suite and fancy lights. If you don't like either of those, you basically can't go wrong with anything sporting a 3310, or even the older 3090 if you're a joo.
>>
>>45397918
OP here, going to open my mamba and try to fix the squeaky scrollwheel and clicking issue.
>>
>>45397983
Squeaky scrollwheel is easy to fix. Silicone lubricant or something similar fixes that just fine. Clicking issue might be a bit harder, if it can be fixed at all.
>>
for the guys who have a rival, does the rubber make your fingers smell funny? and does it go away after a while?

Can you not turn the LEDs off in software ?

I bought a Perixx mouse ( because I am cheap and not good enough for a mouse to make THAT much difference)

I was able to turn the LEDs other than the DPI indicator off

used some rubbing alcohol to clean that white part of the wheel. No more squeaky now! Now for that doubleclick..
>>
>>45398302
You need to lubricate it, the squeak will come back after a short period of time.

step 2.
>>
>>45398332
Very good.
>>
>>45398302
You open up the plastic cover of the switch with sharp blade or pin. Use tape to keep the white switch on place when opening the cover. Straighten the spring pushing it upwards with minimum force. Be very extra carefull not to brake it loose, because its a bitch to get back in place. I allmost lost mine on carpet too, but ever since ive nailet it with first try.
>>
Is the G400s good? I really like it's aesthetics, but I heard G502's sensor is better..
I don't really like the G502 though..

Fixing microswitches. The amount you bend the spring is minimum.
>>
>>45398371
good enough unless you play games professionally
>>
Try the G90x if you can find one anywhere. Fantastic claw grip with adjustable weight and DPI
>>
>>45398381
Thanks, a quick spray with some air stirred up some dirt (in the fucking mouse for christs sake!) and a quick test reveals that it doesn't doubleclick anymore!

Thanks for the video though.

>>
>>45398501
yeah but what do all these electronics in modern mice do?

the one I posted has a sensor/controller chip, a few switches, and a number of resistors and capacitors you can count on one hand.

what else do you need for a mouse to funciton?
I just don't get these gazillion resistors caps and chips in there.

yes

Macros, stored profiles, DPI settings, processing, lighting... to name a few.

why wouldn't you do that in software though, why build it into the mouse?

I just purchased a G502 on Best Buy last night for that free $50 Steam Gift Card, but it looks like the deal is over.
I'm about to go pick it up now, so I can report back later with how it compares to the G400S, if there is even a difference.
>>
>>45400918
that's a really expensive 502
at least the gift card balances it out

If you like palm grip then I can recommend the G700. The only problem is that it's a laser mouse, I would prefer a optical but it's being good so far.

I have it for 2 years and no problem with it. It's also a hybrid corded and wireless mouse, so you can use it easily while not at home.

whats a good mouse for someone who claw/fingertips? two sidebuttons and a scrollwheel is necessary.
>>
>>45397142
after long search and buying a func ms-32 which is ok but was to heavy and the fingerplacement wasnt something for me in the end, i bought the logitech g502 in the amazon sale for 49€ and I must say best mouse since a long time! even tho i dislike the edgy led shit(which can be turned off) its really great mouse. only prob my thumb gets sweety after some time and i dont know why.
>>
>>45403108
btw logitech build in rpg leds but dont let you choose your prefered color... it only glows blue but sometimes when you play with the driver options .. it glows in other colors wtf logitech???
>>
Anyone have advice for a good mouse with nice scrolling and middle click functionality, without any extraneous buttons? I do some light gaming but I don't care about binding mouse buttons to keys.

I currently have a G500 but it's dying. I'd like something that has a similar grip to the G500 but maybe with a nicer scroll wheel.
