I don't have any idea why, but xiaomi pistons give me the biggest boner ever. Anyone else have this problem? I just ordered a pair on amazon, what should I expect?
>>
>>45230776
Decent sound and build quality for price and for a chink company. There are other that are arguably better, but these are pretty damn good, and if you really like the aesthetics of them, then there's no debate there...
>>
>>45230799
Any recommendations on what would be better in the same price range?
>>
They sounded good already out of the box, and now that it's been a few months and well past the burn-in time, I'm very impressed with how they ended up. Especially considering the price point. Plus they feel solid in the ears and look really premium. I've gotten a ton of compliments and questions about them.

Thinking about doing the filter removal mod but I'm afraid I'll fuck up the metal grates. Has anyone done this successfully, and is it worth it?
>>
Here's hoping the ones i ordered aren't fakes, they were 50% off during the 11.11 sales chinese sites had

Those are all more expensive than the Xiaomis, but they're also better, and worth the negligibly small increase in price.

Just got these today. Best $25 I've ever spent.
>>
>>45230974
So you think an item that is worth $0.01 more than a $0.01 item would be at a price that isn't negligible? You're making a sweeping generalization and it shows your ignorance. Also you're a poorfag if you can't even afford or save up for a pair of earphones less than $100.

>>
>>45231063
You're a poorfag not because you're buying something that is priced at $25, but for buying a product that is inferior to others at a slightly higher price point that anyone who is a wise consumer and money spender would be able to afford. I don't even care if this is bait, you really have no clue yourself.

Still chump change, and if it is 2x better, then even more so. Anything else, poorfag?

People constantly buying pointlessly expensive gear are the ones that tend to be frustrated poorfags.

Either way, I can recommend the Xiaomis because they're really neat in terms of how they are built and presented as objects.

But the KZ I have now definitely have better sound properties and comfort is fine on those, too.

Original Xiaomi Piston 2.1.

I'd also mention the KZ again, but I really don't know how fast they might break (or not) yet.

OTOH I severely doubt you can break enough of them to incur significant cost, either way. Not the ~$10 ones anyways.

No problem. Be careful if you end up on the Xiaomis.

There are lots of convincing fakes being sold, anything below $16.3 or so should be obviously suspect because that'd be below the Chinese price (at least at past exchange rates)

>>45232005
> is probably eaisier for you to buy chinaese things in switzerland because they can send them via mule or whatever
Hehe - no, airplanes or ships, same as they send them to the USA. Shipping anything across Eurasia by land is actually a PITA, or so I heard. Almost no one who doesn't have to does it.

>>45232019
Personally, I'm neutral about their looks (and the alternatives are more fancy to me).
>>
>>45230776
Decent sound quality for the price.

Pretty nice design.

Very good build quality for the price.

Decent longevity (~18 months).

You're getting a typical $60 earbud for $25.

Not much more, not much less.

why do all your recommendations look like gimmicky garbage?
>>
>>45232146
>You're getting a typical $60 earbud for $25
Or ~$20, which is what I paid for the originals (seller was apparently content with ~$3.7 or so for his profits and shipping)

And you still get a bit of kevlar braided wire (and 3 control buttons + a mic if you're using a compatible smartphone) extra.

But yea, they sound like average $60 earphones picked at random in a store might.

I got a Narmoo S1 for the bass. The dual drivers are nice.

>>
>>45232358
> In general, is the sound good?
Yes, but I stand by my assessment that the KZ-DT3 are probably better for most people (by sound).

> will i notice any diference coming from the EarPods?
I don't have any of the recent ones (last time I used Apple IEM was with an itouch 2 that I won, and it broke after ~1 year).

But people told me that those still are kinda shitty.

So my guess is that yes, Xiaomi Piston 2 sound better.

Clearly, you've never even touched the pistons based on your statement. Sure, the earpods are "decent", but to say that one won't hear any difference between it and the Pistons is just plain ignorant. They aren't even remotely in the same league of tonal quality.
>>
>>45232700
Does it really matter? It's not like the sound quality even matters at this point, otherwise you wouldn't be going so cheap.

see now you're just grasping at the straws. it is a very, very good in-ear given its price, and obviously, one would always want the best product possible at ANY given price range. dont forget, earpods cost more, and they sound inferior.
>>
>>45232719
just because a person is on a budget, does not mean quality has to be forgone. isn't the whole point of advancing technology to deliver quality at every price range?
