How do we solve the encryption problem /g/?

Hearing the candidates talk about encryption is absolutely cringe worthy. They can get away with it though and not be an absolute laughingstock because the general public is ignorant of technology.

1. Encryption is not a boogey man. Everyone uses encryption. When you shop on Amazon, when you check your email, when you login to Facebook. Encryption is everywhere.
2. Weakening encryption would weaken U.S security because it would also make it hackable to China and terrorists.
3. There isn't anyway to stop existing encryption algorithms already out there. Terrorists would just use the existing algorithms without the backdoors.
4. What does "closing down parts of the internet" even fucking mean? Do they mean a national firewall to block access to websites or do they mean physically confiscating servers? The vagueness of such a phrase shows a completely inept understanding of how the internet works.

But bad guys are using encryption and the FBI can't stop them. How do we get rid of it to save freedom?
>>
>>51888061
Create a new Internet.
>>
>>51888423
But we already have another internet.

It's naive to think this'll stop anything. You gonna remove vocl cords, pen and paper, radio? The spread of information cannot be stopped.

McAfee is the only one who knows how computers, networks and encryption works. A pity he'll never make it as an independent

IF YOU AREN'T DOING ANYTHING WRONG YOU DON'T NEED ENCRYPTION! WHAT ARE YOU A TERTORTOISE? only criminals need privacy

Why dont you make mathematics illegal? That would save you from muh bad bad terrorist encryption.

this
Why are all the retards who take tech related decisions dropouts, lawyers or people with 0 technology related background? The most complex tech related thing these faggots must have done would be something like using ms excel to make a document or something

And they didn't even use encryption

Presumably, the US wants to go the great-firewall-of-china route. VPSes in third world countries have been a haven for file hosting / media / warez for a long time now, and the US is finally starting to realize that some countries just aren't interested in enforcing US laws.

>terrorist use cars to travel, ban cars!

This will never end

Because they have no fucking technical advisers.
They haven't learned anything since SOPA. How the fuck the American public still accepts their government is completely fucking beyond me.
>>
>>51892359
>terrorists attack civilians, ban attacks on civilians!

and ROADS, every terrorist has used them
>>
It's not about politicians not understanding (although this is often the case), it's about the general public not understanding. Say somethig like "We will make facebook safe for children" and the general public will eat it up.

Politics is 99% PR 1% PR.

the average american is pretty fucking ignorant
it pains me every day
>>
>>51892472
The general public is fucking retarded. There are people *on this very board* dumb enough to, for example, use win10 when it's confirmed botnet-in-a-box by ms's own privacy policy. I hate normies so much.

How do I reach these normies

This.

>>51892574
You can't. Normies only listen to other normies. It's the tragedy of the lowest denominator.

Volunteer to teach kids about encryption and why alternate OSs are important. Many people who i try to convince to switch say they can't because they're too used to windows. So we just have to baby duck them sooner.
>>
we need a space race for encryption

get all the supercomputers hashing that shit out until it's obsolete
