>>51707879
I know you're baiting, but there are a lot of people who agree with that perspective. The burden of proof is on the person making the claims. Please show me any evidence whatsoever of radical climate change or that carbon emissions have had any measurable effect on the climate of Earth. If you can't, you've only got blind faith. The climate change movement has become a religion or even a cult.

I'm surprised more people don't take the "so what" attitude to climate change.

True. Global warming is allot better than another ice age.
>>
>>51707962
Climate change seems to be happening: seasons are appearing later or shorter during the calendar year. I don't think global warming is factually founded, and I don't think glaciers are a natural/needed part of the environment, just a remnant of the ice age. I don't necessarily support pumping toxins into the atmosphere but even worst case scenario, if California sinks into the ocean I think it's a win.

There's no data to support any causation. The Earth is still in the process of exiting an ice age. Yes the climate is changing, that's quite obvious to everyone. However, none of these effects are runaway, elevated, or anything and show now causation of human activity.

The idea that the energy industry should be decimated by using inefficient technologies when energy is so scarce in our world today is horrifying. Climate change fanaticism is the most dangerous and destructive movement in the world today, surpassing even Islam.

Yes, much more economically damaging than Islam is currently mustering. Entire industries have been shut down. The amount of disastrous pollution created by rare earth metal mining needed to create the massive amount of solar panels to get a fraction of the energy production its replacing is absurd. Even nuclear plants have been closed in favor of solar panel and wind farms. Carbon credits threaten to melt the economy down and turn the energy sector into even more of an oligopoly than it already is. Let's not forget the increased cost of goods with precious metals and resources being spent on wasteful green energy, driving up the cost of goods, living, and taxation. If the climate fanatics get their way, hundreds of millions of lives will be lost with the dearth of energy. Their solution is exponentially more damaging than their cause even if it were true, and by their own admission, it would have little effect on the apparent damage.

Islam is just a bunch of terrorist attacks, a set of asymmetrical wars that are costly to developed countries, and a mess with middle eastern energy.

So what is your point? That the sun is what keep us warm? Holy shit, thank you Sherlock
>>
>>51714946
Do you not understand the greenhouse effect? You are either very young, retarded, or just uneducated. Either way, let me explain it in retard terms for you the sun gives off heat, that heat is supposed to radiate out. Greenhouse gases trap that heat for longer. Earth gets hotter.

greenhouse gasses increase the amount of heat that stays on earth through being absorbed into co2 and other greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere as opposed to being radiated back out into space

>>

OF COURSE all the energy radiates out, or else earth would keep heating up forever... Heat radiates out during night, more gets added during the day (depending of course where you are on the planet). It SHOULD be at an equilibrium

I honestly don't know what to think anymore

>I've read that article in its entirety and all its sources, nobody seems to acknowledge that global warming is just a straight up consequence of the sun giving us its energy.
Did you mean all the energy comes from the sun? well of course it does, where the fuck would it come from? the point of the greenhouse effect is that humans are making the earth hotter. If you understood that, then why make the post I quoted? what is so baffling here?
>>

>>
>>51715156
Ya I guess, I don't pay much attention to this "debate" anymore since im 28 and college is behind me but I always assumed it was a reasoned debate as to the causes of global warming, not that its occurring. >grand conspiracy
no, it's simply that they have 0 evidence. It completely ignores the scientific process. It's literally a hypothesis that's been untested. The data that's been gathered thus far has completely disagreed with their models. The historic data has completely disagreed with their models.

This consensus nonsense is as anti-scientific as possible. Science is not consensus; it's reason, evidence, testing and being critical of theories. Climate science of the past 50 years has been a farce and you know it.

If you actually review the articles and studies that most these climate scientists cite, you'll see that its largely hypothesization, taking liberties with projecting data with models that don't explain any period in Earth history.

Simple facts are that the climate has been hotter, colder, wetter, and dryer previously, and humans have survived through all of it. There's no reason for economic suicide because of some climate evangelists with a crack pot hypothesis. The government shouldn't be involved in controlling and shaping the energy sector. Solyndra and Fukushima being two great examples of why.
