Decided to break up my max testing into separate days this week, as I'm not competing for quite some time and it'd be better for seeing what my actual maxes are for the upcoming training cycle. So, here was squat day.

No commentary this time, mostly because I wanted to play with sound effects again. Probably gonna have a commentary on the next episode, which will be testing out my bench max.

High cal protein bars are nice, like Goodlife bars. Yoghurt is nice for bulking, almost too nice.

Naturell kvarg+chopped almonds+chopped walnuts+honey+diced pear is a very nice snack. Almost got myself broke eating it every night for a month.

Oh... befoee I go, also having a hard time cutting depth. I was trained in my teens to atg squat and I find it hard to not go so low. I feel weaker when I hit power sqauat depth. I assume this wil get better? There's a huge disparity between my highbar weight and my lowbar weight because of this.

And yeah, I noticed my body really likes singling my way up by about 10 pounds. Wasn't sure if that's what I should keep doing, though. I worked up to from 315 (which was my current max post time off) to 375 by ten pounds each set. So, like 7 or 8 sets of singles. Just hoping it's not harmful.

That would defeat the purpose of wearing them - so you're not obstructed by shorts. As long as you wear something under them and don't buy shitty thin ones, I've never had an issue. I do wear fairly long t-shirts, though.

Low bar - no. You only have to squat to parallel in competition, so train how you're gonna compete.
High bar/Front squat - optional. Full ROM will train your muscles better overall, but might ingrain bad motor patterns of squatting too deep. I prefer to do ATG on these just to get the full worth of the movement, and just be careful about depth on competition squats.

Trying to go ATG on low bar is gonna give you buttwink unless you have gymnast mobility. If you're worried about it, just stretch your hammies and see how that goes.

2 PR's.

Beltless Paused Squat, got 435 for a double.
Bench Press, got 275x10.

Did some chin-ups and curls, and got out in under an hour.

Been excited to squat and press every day again. I'm just hitting a solid top set with no back-off work for now.

Back to lifting in my old high school weight room for part of the week. Fun times :)
