did you read any of the responses you got?

i dont see you bending excessively and you're actually supposed to guide the bar with your arms at the top of the pull

you don't finish the extension though it looks like you're just doing muscle version

learn how to jump/extend properly before you add weight watch the videos at the OP

Yea I was mostly told by one guy from last session that everything seemed okay, other than my shoes were getting in my way. I didn't get it in the shot but I may or may not be shrugging my shoulders at the top. What is the muscle version of the clean (power clean)?

I've gone through most of the OP videos, the clean technique done by pendlay and the bar path trajectory, and klokovs demonstration on the clean and snatch seemed the most relevant. Which others should I rewatch?

3:00 watch them do retard jumps, do those too so you learn how to actually extend your hips, just jump up in the air and let your elbows come up, and make sure you land FLAT. not on your toes like you're doing in that webm

make sure you stay on the full foot when you jump, and bend you knees out and push your hips back you should feel your legs very hard when you do it right, bend to about quarter squat or slightly lower then jump from there

however, the memory of the pain I had hinders me: i always power everything because my brain somehow is afraid of not having control of the bar and having it crash on my shoulder.
i power every snatch and I'm just too afraid to actually go deep atg, which ofc makes me snatch way less weight than I could.

In my experience consecutive injuries heal faster and faster until they became extremely rare and desu my habits never changed.

Worst injury i had is i guess my wrists. I legit thought i broke them forever. Couldnt even wipe my ass or leave my house without 10/10 pain. Just tapping anything felt like bouldozers were running over my hand.

Took 3 months to heal.

I got the same exact injury a year or so later but i healed in less than a week.

I got the injury again recently lifting twice as much as i used to 2 yrs ago and i healed later that day.

I had some rotator cuff issues too. If you dont use it you lose it is all i gotta say. Theyre stronger than ever now.

I didnt go 100% during injuries ofcourse and did a lot of rehab lifts. Im just saying to stay optimistic!

I strained my.lower back frontnsquatting after feeling a niggle at work earlier. It got really bad and seized up the and next day and I thought maybe I'd fucked a disk. Went to the health centre and they said it was a pull that seized up overnight.

They told me to rest it, warm compress it, and start doing light mobility once it felt OK to. I was lifting again within two weeks.

stopped doing deadlift completely for ~2months, my squat increased a lot, from 170 kg belt + sleeves to 175 kg beltless, classic got a little bit better, from 84/106 to 90/115, but te pulls feels heavier every day, so today i tried to deadlift 180kg wich was my previous 10rm and got only a grinded double.

So I've been stretching hamstrings for a while now and they have improved massively, however my hips still come back slightly in all types of squat and at the bottom, I get slight rounded lower back.

I also can't sit on my calves with my hamstrings with a straight back.

I still can not sit with my lower back fully against a wall when legs are out straight.

Is it possible that my problem is hip and quad flexibility/mobility instead?

Ok, I'll focus more on hips since I haven't really been focusing on much.

I can touch my toes easily and palms on floor so I thought that hamstring wouldn't be much or the problem.

When I do this with hands behind feet to make the stretch harder, I feel the stretch/slight pain in my lower back. Could that suggest tightness there?

Does anyone know a good olympic weightlifting gym in montreal (quebec, Canada)?

Preferably not a crossfit one, I heard the coaches tend to be bad, and injuries are plenty.

I did deal with depression for about 3-4 months, its better to not take pills and fuck with your hormones. Try regulating your schedule and doing things at fixed times, such as eating or gym. A regular schedule will regularise your hormones most of the time. Aside from that, get plenty of fresh air & sunlight.

If it's still bad after that and you constantly feel like killing yourself, consider taking medication and/or seeing a doctor or psychiatrist.

Talk to close friends / family about it, however hard it may be, theyre on your side bro

Another first time poster in /owg/ here. Just got interested in Oly-style lifting.

My upper body is well-developed (one plate OHP, two plate bench) but my lower body is untrained (sub-two plate squat, dead) as a consequence of just lifting for aesthetics.

I'm thinking that I should run Starting Strength / linear progression for a few months while honing my techinque on the Oly lifts before proceeding to increase the weight.

Does this seem like a sound approach?

There's Gym Expert in Verdun. It's basically a commercial gym with a weightlifting area available at no extra charge. Eleiko bumpers and everything. The coach is a former competitor.

Centre Claude-Robillard is home to Francis Luna Grenier, and he provides coaching, but you can't actually train there.

There's a weightlifting club in Saint-Henri called Les Géants, but they're only open a few hours every day. The head coach can C&J 220+

Currently I can squat 180kg @88kg bw and my vertical jump is 77cm. I achieved these while playing soccer and lifting once or twice a week.

I have thought of starting weightlifting because it looks cool and 270kg total would be more than enough to win the junior nationals in my country.

Don't skip the gym because you're feeling tired, you just end up feeling ashamed of skipping and it feeds into the cycle
Try to win the small victories in training, like don't miss for a session or some kind of incremental gain. Do something you can be proud of at the end of the day.

Since I started wearing my power perfect 2's my knees have been causing me such pain, I have relatively long femurs and I don't think mobility is an issue, I can hit ATG with good form in chucks without an issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated
