ITT we post something to make other /diy/ fags jelly.
Keep it /diy/ related though!
Pic related. I have more downstairs. I got them all for free.
What am I looking at here? Dildos?
>>969487
Not op but 29 18650 batteries it appears.
Why are they being stored in a chain on fabric, does op want to start a fire?
>>969489
I'm measuring voltages to see which ones to throw out, which ones are still full enough, and which ones to top up
>>969481
Im not sure why you think I would be jealous of some salvaged batteries.
>>969481
>any picture of good powertools and large tools (lathes and welders)
>Tfw apartment fag
>tfw can't move because study
>tfw the onlly hackerspace is a place for kids play with arduino in a 2x2 room
>tfw third world tools are expensive as fuck (I can't even buy a dremel they are like 150$)
>4 years of hard study until I can make my own money and buy land and tools
>>969517
Because it's a lot of batteries?
>>969522
What country?
>>969522
Then you will have a job and not be able to actually work on anything
>>969538
BR. The onlly /diy/ culture here is to nigger rig shit with wire, durepox, heat, mortar and niggery. Doing EE here, I hope I have the time to learn how2weld later. Most people don't have tools at home at are at the mercy of "John Doe-do-it-all"s that overcharge and do shit jobs and retarded decisions (specially in building things without planning.Eg My rented apartment kitchen has no floor drain dure to some stupid pedreiro not even thinking)
>>969543
>tfw
>>969595
Plan is to graduate, make some money, move to the US and buy comfy land near mountains and live the /out/ /diy/ life
>>969601
That doesn't make me jelly. Actually it makes me sad.
>>969481
Wow you're actually proud of having a bunch of secondhand batteries! I'm... surprised. Hard luck mate, things must be tough there, wherever it is.
>>969601
Are you crippled? This is almost as bad as the anon 3d printing a fork because he didn't want to wash metal clutery.
>>969601
This image should be labelled bedsores.jpg
>>969601
All the pics I´ve ever seen of bed mounted PCs or laptops make me cringe.
I have never been able to lay in bed with a laptop more than 30 minutes without feeling sore all over.
That posture... holy crap...
r8
My entire existence.
>>969595
I've only seen floor drains in commercial kitchens...
Is shipping to Brazil difficult from US? I have tools everywhere. Do you guys use standard 110 us outlets?
>>969612
Australia.
>>969481
Liquid Cooled ITX.
I'll buy a new GPU when Pascal comes out.
>>969852
Why not polaris?
I've never understood brand loyalty. Used both amd and nvidia and they've both had only minor issues for me.
Shadowplay causes display drivers to crash for example.
>>969800
I dare you to short that battery bank.
>>969492
What are you going to do with them?
>>969866
Currently making a speaker for the gf. Putting 3 in parallel with a step up circuit to 5v for a 6300mAh battery pack for a 3w+3w speaker.
>>969857
Eh true, it will depend on performance of the two. I just assumed Pascal will be the dominate of the two. Assuming both lines are aimed at gaming and have a top of the line card out.
I may be waiting a while, but if I get desperate, the new lines should at least drop the 980 ti price.
>I haven't had an AMD card since they were ATI.
>>969870
>disappointed with how poorly my hd5870 aged, upgraded to gtx 680
>disappointed with how poorly my gtx 680 aged, even though I made a point of getting the 4GB model
Looking at how well the 290 and 7970 have aged, I'm seriously looking at polaris, but I'm not going to buy on launch day.
Also never trust online benches, they're all launch day with no drivers or performance optimisations from the devs.
>>969806
We use retarded (but not more retarded than no defined outlet model as a few years ago) swiss outlets. Voltage is 220v here for most places and a few oddball cities have 127v (yeah in the same nation). I don't know, it probably is expensive, will take two days to reach brazil and 40 to leave customs (if it leaves). But every house has 12405120 plug converters because until a few years ago there was no standard.
I'm currently too busy studying and learning to code/reading tons of books to use tools and search for a space. And the dollar being compeltely out of balance thanks to this government doesn't help either. (It was a 1 dollar 2R$ ALWAYS, now it's 4R$). Probaly when the recession wards off I'll be near graduation, with more free time and will buy some shit. But it shingles my dingles seeing a old ass used osciloscope being sold for 250$US and a new one being almost 500-600$. (I have "enough" money but I refuse myself to be overcharged to such extent as some things are here.)
Kitchen is a mix of laundry area and kitchen. So it's expected to have a drain in case the washing mashine spills or something (precisely what happened with me).
Thanks for the offer anon.
>>969903
No prob, if you're ever interested in trading some Brazilian stuff for some American stuff, be it tools or parts or dildos, email me at [email protected]
>>969869
She sounds disgusting.
>>969860
I actually did short one of those exact banks once, here are the plugs that did it.
Note the big chunk missing. The outer surface of the plastic is not just sooty, but carbonised and conductive.
>>969912
But I didn't even say anything about her
>>969911
I can trade some Zyka. But saved your email. Plan is to move somewhere cold and with mountains in the US when I'm able (in 6-8 years) and buy some land.
>>969869
What are you using for voltage management, charging etc that is gf proof? I have access to lots of them but have never done anything serious with them.
> post something to make other /diy/ fags jelly.
I own 20 oscilloscopes.
>>969989
>>969989
Most of them look pretty shitty. Did you get them out of the garbage at your local college?
>>969978
Tp4056 for charging, with micro usb.
And the output of that is connected to a step up circuit i got off eBay for a couple of dollars. The step up circuit is fine up till around 700-800mA even though it's "rated up to 2A". The amplifier peaks at around 800mA during the really bassy/heavy parts of the music.
Also a lithium protection pcb for over charge and discharge, even though there is an overcharge one built into the tp4056. To prevent it from going below nominal voltage.
>>969790
do you rob police cars when the cop walks away?
1.6 mw diesel backed ups flywheel.
>>970023
b-bunker anon?
>>969481
18650 batteries op
>>970023
are those five oil filters?
what on earth do you need 1.6mw of power for?
>>970040
>what on earth do you need 1.6mw of power for?
Not him, but to power a former Swedish nuclear bunker?
>>970045
I dont even think there would be a thousand 1kw lights in that place.
also it's technically more of a hole in the wall. i always imagined it as like one of those missile silos. still cool though.
>>970023
Bunker-san you are a-a-alive? Pls make threads/dumps
>>970023
My body is ready.
>>970047
A missile silo is a facility for launching missiles. A bunker is a place to protect people from other people's missiles.
But yeah Bunkerbro's bunker was only partially finished.
The 1.6mw is probably because a) he could b) he could get it reconditioned, cheap c) he does have a shit load of water pumps, lights, air circulation pumps/filters and heavy doors that are either electrically or hydraulically operated (and then he needs to run the compressor).
>>970182
i don't care how many pumps you have
1.6MW is insane
typical rates works out at how many million $/£/E to run per hour?
>>970191
No idea what it would cost in terms of fuel to actually run, but, compared to buying from the power co. at like...what...$0.20/kWh, you're looking at $320/hour worth of electricity generated.
>>970191
>1.6MW is insane
If he got it cheap and has the space for it, why not? This is Bunkerbro: he installed new blast doors *just because he could*. I don't think the price of fuel to run a generator is going to keep him awake at night.
>>970029
Yes.
>>970040
Various bunker reasons, its the UPS system when the normal grid goes down, which is pretty common due to snow making trees fall on power lines. Downside of being out in the middle of nowhere forest.
>>970093
Finishing up all the bathrooms/showers/plumbing. Will post some pics when I start doing the power cable runs.
>>970167
Good.
>>970182
B. Got it from a factory that went chapter 11. ~60h run in total (they test ran it 1h / month). Rolls Royes engines. Only me, the army and the newest hospital complex that has these in Sweden.
>>970191
~300L/h just below ~$500/h.
>>969481
Why would I be jealous of a load of used 18650 batteries?
>>970220
>just because
i didn't mean he was insane for buying it, i meant its an insane amount of available draw.
>>970239
HAve you a website where you keep all your photos that you release to us peasants? or a instagram or something?
I legitimately get fear when I realise there are posts I've missed out on cos i'm so envious
>>970239
Tiling sucks. I wish I had dosh like you anon, I'd make an effort to at least do shit as cool as you.
>>970023
Holy shit it's bunkerguy!
Are you going to put a fart can on that and plastidip it?
>>970239
Tried running it on different fuels like a M-35?
>>969595
Kill yourself.
>>970329
Rude
>>970239
>Only me, the army and the newest hospital complex that has these
I bet that sentence is so satisfying to say.
how much was that generator? make and model?
>>970239
how much fuel will you be storing? that thing must chug through like a liter a minute.
>>969481
Oh my, looks like this project needs a 4.7gb ISO and a 40gb archive of packages and accessories.
>Its done by the time I get back with my tea.
Also, srsly, whats with the upped difficulty on the captchas?
>>969595
How about hackerspaces? There's one in Sao Paulo. They might even lend you tools and stuff if you're respectful and, well, not a nigger.
>>970023
>ups
So it's safe to assume it doesn't have downs?
>>970023
>Bunkerbro
Ok, threads over, its literally not possible for someone to not be jelly of this anon.
>>970514
São paulo is 1,5 thousand Km away. The local hackerspace is a small room on the architecture department of the local uni filled with hipsters toying with expensive arduinos and drones. It's smaller than my apartment. I'll just graduate and then begin my descent into welder/dadcore
>>970329
Top kekikus
>>969531
I could have a mountain of shit, would you be jealous of it?
>>969601
LOL, either you're seriously disabled or you're a complete slob.
>>969790
Sweet r8 8/8. I have to go get my amateur radio license again because I let it run out like an idiot.
>>970239
You are fucking out of your mind, mate
>>970628
There is a manual override from the inside that can be used if power goes out. The problem is getting to the blast doors in the dark.
>>970655
>pic
In my defense, the property is now quite valuable, had to get in valuated for the insurance (must have one by law). It's about twice what I've put into it.
>>970662
I have no doubt bunkerbro...no doubt...
You are living the dream...
>>970662
>tfw male
>tfw not a qt that can seduce bunker bro so I can live the /diy/ dream
>>970538
You sound jealous
>>970239
>B. Got it from a factory that went chapter 11.
Yeah I remember you saying you'd got it cheap and it was basically brand new.
The downside to having a rare engine of that size is getting parts; preserved locomotive engines tend to have that problem.
>>969481
I'm completely out of all debt. I owe no one anything at all. I recommend everyone else do the same.
I've been looking for an excuse to get a 15 gauge nailer. It did save me a bunch of time on my last job. It has an LED and blower built in.
Makes me hard.
Have you ever thought about running the genset on straight veggie oil bunkerbro
>>970662
>quite valuable
To whom and are they willing to pay?
>>970857
>insurance
In other words, the insurance company thinks it's now worth more. Which obviously makes sense after all these renovations and shit.
When an insurance company thinks it's worth more, it generally means that they want you to pay higher insurance fees.
>>969595
Is there any cultural reason why BRs need a drain in their kitchen?
Are you talking about sinks?
>>969800
kek, you are that fingoll lad from youtube - FFcossag?
>>969989
1960's called, anon
they want their oscilloscopes back
>>970989
Yes.
>>971150
What have I done to anger you?
>>971137
nois, i knew it mane
also, subscribed
i make "software" DIY, but on my site, instead of youtube, because i'm too autistic to shoot videos
>>971167
Thank you for subscribing.
Software belongs in text form, you're doing it right.
>>971176
it's about reverse engineering, tho
the cool kids do that on youtube
>>971168
>pull 20A from a worn out laptop cell
>it explodes in your face
>random kid pulls up, points at you, shouts "in your face" and leaves.
>>972224
kek.
>>969492
there are methods and chargers out there to save the dead cells, not too expensive iirc either
What are the dangers in using those fake Chinese 18650 batteries? Have you come across any op, or anyone?
I bought two without doing research and I suspect they're fake
Not really jelly, but I couldn't find a thread where i can share my sik mixtapes
>>969790
Nice, never really liked the speaker mics that have the antenna attached to them, but then again I use the Motorola XPR 6580 with a speaker mic and a 800/900Mhz antenna.
