The only way to find out you're not good at something is to try it, right?
Door made of recycled wood. The only pallet wood is the upper inset part.
Made for an odd sized pantry. It used to be a standard 24" opening, but previous owner nailed new trim over old. Results are a 21" opening, and a 20.75" door.

I suck at measuring, plus this was all cut with a jigsaw.

And the result. Looks decent from far away.
Sorry about the sideways pics, shitty Chinese phone.

8/10 first try. I used to think i sucked making shit like that in my fixer-upper house. Then my brother bought a brand new house, built by "professionals". The mouldings they put up were as bad as my first try ones. They got more paint on the floor than i ever did. One garage door didnt open straight, the other one didn't open at all. I know they probably weren't trying that hard, because american attitude and getting paid either way and i was trying my best. But Made me feel better about my work anyway.
It's pretty rough. But it's your first try and you were winging it so not too shabby. I think your lessons learned for next time are:
1. Top and bottom wood is not the same width on the inside so the line doesn't flow. Next time cut the top boards thinner so they match the bottom boards.
2. Caulk all of the gaps, THEN paint over them. Or use wood filler in the gaps and sand flush. It'll look like one longer piece of wood that way.
3. Screws should be flipped on the inside of the door where no one can see them.
4. Make the handle fit all on the one board, not attached to two seperate pieces.
Consider what you have now a... rough draft. Pallet wood is free so it wouldn't cost you much to try again. Plus you've already learned how to do half of it so you'd do really well on your second try. On the other hand if it's just a temporary house and not some place you're gonna retire then fuck it, unless you want a project to keep you busy. Eh... I say if your renting fuck it, but if you bought the place then re-do it.
Final score: 7.3/10
Looks decent. If it develops cracks, see
