No it´s not. Carving and stamping leather bases on the fact that water softens the leather and drying hardens it somewhat. Can´t do that with faux leather or with chrome tanned leathers. Only vegetable tanned leather is good for carving.

Any embosing on faux (PVC) leather is possible by hotstamping it. But you need acurate temperature control and it's very easy to scar the first layer.
