What is this?

Meat smoker.
>>
submarine
>>
>>930129
clearly used to or was supposed to be a steam locomotive
>>
Looks like some kind of furnace for making alloys,
>>
Looks like a heat exchanger
>>
>>930129

Looks like a buried container
>>
I agree with the heat exchanger. Probably an old boiler. Could be used outside or was removed from something
>>
>>930129
Almost looks like a smoker.
>>
He is right, it is a train boiler minus the train.
>>
Boiler guy here.

It's a steam boiler.

Came from either:
A locomotive
A farm tractor machine
A factory that used steam power machines

The remains of a transportable steam engine. You see the axles for the wheels. These where towed around by horses, bullocks or a traction engine to the next job site.

Something for running a big ass steam engine... To hold and make the steam. But I wouldn't use it.. They stopped using rivets for a reason....
>>

>They stopped using rivets for a reason

Really bruh?
>>
>>930192
I think he means in large boiler use. Nothing beats a proper welding and heat treating for that.
>>
>>930195

>large boiler use

My fault.
>>
>>930129
Gold prospector here, judging by the area around it I wanna say they used it to power some rock crushers to crush gold bearing ore.
>>
>>930175
this right here, its basically a generator from times before electricity, you could get mechanical power from it by the large belt drive wheel (the two wide wheels on the top near the smoke pipe) AND steam pressure for a steam powered hammer for example

pic related, its a steampowered powerhammer, you needed a steam engine to power one of these things, allthoug the one in >>930175 is "portable" model, and for a hammer like this you propably would build a stationary steam boiler

My dick

>>930129
Its a Frick steam engine
>>
Steam traction engine boiler. Where did you find it OP?
>>
>>930129
it's an old industrial machine for making string cheese; it takes the form of a shell-tube heat exchanger. you would put warm water in to the shell through those pipes in the side, and then force cheese through those tubes. the warmth would soften the cheese as it was extruded out the other end

i just had an awesome idea for a cheese 3d printer.
