Ive recently started making (jewelry) rings out of old bearings, and i thought it might be nice to paint some. But i have no idea what kind of paint i should use that both hold well on metal, yet is 100% skin friendly etc.
Plate them with some kind of metal. You can easily obtain zinc or nickel from coins. These are going to be more skin friendly than most paints.

No, those will react with your skin. Often times they turn skin green.
I'd suggest powder coating them if possible.

The ring in your photo is actually stainless steel.

Nickel allergy is a thing.

You could make them out of aluminum and then anodize them.
I want to make a ring out of copper, could i wear it if i coat it in clear nail polish? Epoxy? Resin? I dont want a green finger

Cerakote.

Powder coat it about the only thing that will be durable enough for daily wear.
Its an engeneering ring from Québec
Cerakote is much tougher than generic powdercoat and is proven on thousands of weapons.
