My grandfather is trying to remove the clutch shaft from the transmission and is unable to find how. Any help would be appreciated.

We did and couldn't find anything. He has already talked to a mechanic as well, but there is nobody who can come out and work on it because we live quite a ways from the city.

What issue is he having? I've did more than a couple engine and trans swaps on passenger vehicles, never touched heavy equipment but some things I know might apply.
Use a TELEPHONE and CALL a John Deere dealer or the company support line. The company exists, the 450 is not an orphan machine, and the same people who will be selling him the replacement parts can sell you a manual. You can certainly work on such things yourself but get the manual and parts book too.

Post a few photos of said clutch drum. May be able to help as I strip trannys a fair bit at work
