Hey /diy/,
I am trying to build the smallest ping pong launcher robot. I thought i could use co2 canisters but i am not sure how to use it properly. Is it feasible to use co2 canisters for My objective? What do i need to use for connections and selenoid valves? How can i connect the cartridge to the system since it requires to be opened by puncturing?
Thanks alot. Any keyword or another approach is very well welcomed.

You can try a bb gun magazine. It has a built in push valve. And an easy way of installing the co2 cartridge. You would only need a way to push on the valve to release the co2

You don't know what you're doing or enough to do this safely. You'll get hurt or hurt others by pursuing this project.

C02 cartridges have a vapor pressure of 850 psi at 70 degrees. You'll need a regulator and high pressure connections.
You don't know enough.

modify the chamber of a paintball gun?

How far do you want the ball to be shot? If it isn't very far and you don't need it to hit hard you can use something as simple as a syringe and linear motor/actuator. A bicycle pump can do the same thing. You can make it from scratch too.

Jesus christ save us all from the perfectionists of /diy/.

OP, I own a thing that has a screw on cap that seals and penetrates co2 cartridges, then pulling a trigger releases it into a hose. It's so perfect for this idea that I've thought about it myself, but I just can't find a reason. Anyways, google 'co2 drain line cleaner'

Also, here's a pic of what I have. See all those expensive high pressure regulators and fittings?

Fuck off, Mr. X.

Those are what $40 on amazon I think? I think I'd rather use a snake to clear drains. lol

That particular one is marketed towards refrigeration technicians. My company has bought me two now, and they haven't failed yet for clearing clogged AC drains.

air pressure at 100psi would be overkill for a ping pong ball launcher.

i would not recommend due to what this anon said.
