I started a thread on this board a few months ago and you guys helped me out a lot, like more than I expected, with surprisingly little shitposting and guys being a dick about fucking with a 'historical rifle', so I thought I might as well post the finished project, I think it turned out real nice, sorry it took so long to finish and to post the results, i got stuck deciding the color of the wood stain and ended up cleaning the wood for a month until it got a nice clean blonde and I just said fuck it and lacquered over it.

One more angle, and Im done, I swear, and disregard time stamps i never set the date in that camera.

>>1009288
It was burned using a microwave transformer and the high voltage from it, I can post screens from my original thread and it has most of the process and progress.
>>
>>1009286
What did you end up finishing it in? The spar urethane?
>>
>>1009302
Yeah, I tried at first with the wipe on stuff, but I couldn't get a even coat, or I kept on sanding too hard, so I cleaned it off with lacquer thinner and just went for the aerosol semi gloss lacquer. So much easier.
>>
Do you have a before pic? I want to buy a k31 but the only ones within my price range have cracked stocks

Last one I got, if the woods not in the wrist condition refinishing it is fairly easy, of you don't care about historical junk
>>
>>1009310
fucking autocorrect on the phone, but i think it turned out really nice, even if ive ruined the 'collectibility' on the most common variant, of the 2nd most common gun in the world, ever.
>>
this is real nice!
>>
>historical
nobody actually cares that much about nagants, unless it's one of the collectible ones.
>>
>>1009310
Cracked stocks are really easy to fix. What you want to do is actually just with a little pressure. Run the crack off. Basically break it in half. Then very carefully drill two or three holes and stick some wooden dowels in them and glue the stock back together. And clamp as tight as you can get so the crack line is barely visible. Then if you can still see it. You can make a little butterfly joint to kinda spice it up a little.
>>
>>1009286
Neat
>>
>>1009313
Your clips are not high enough capacity.

Thanks!

Stop being a memester.
>>
>>1009333
I dare you to say that over on /k/
>>
>>1009616
Right? I tried posting on /k/ when i was redoing and all I got was a bunch of NEETs yelling at me.
>>
>>1009406

No one NEEDS the 6 round assault nugget clips annon.

Do you want anything left of the deer after your done shooting? Come on that would be like hunting with an Assault Rifle model 15 with assault clips and a shoulder thing that goes up.
>>
>>1009637

There ARE actually valuable nuggets out there. But most of them have mismatched part numbers and stocks that have been beat to shit and back.

Its kind of like looking at the pic of the guy who painted the K98 Mauser up in MLP colors... then realising its a "Mitchels Mauser" and that nothing of value was lost.

OP, that looks mighty neat.

A little more practice and I can see that going commercial on a small scale.
>>
>>1009745
Whaaaaaat, really? That a really huge compliment, i was just doing this so I could make it my own. I didnt think it was that nice. I just thought it would be a cool concept for my guns.
>>
>Used a fuckcommon '42 91/30
>Looks slick as fuck regardless
/k/ here it meets regs
ya did good
>>
>>1009824
Thats about the gist of it, It just gets me so confused when assholes get all butthurt about messing it up.
>>
I remember your original threads, you did great.
Handload some AAA battery rounds for it.
>>
>>1009637
Yeah they're super fucking lame.

>>1009745
I second that - not sure who the target market would be though. Probably going to have more luck with burnt furniture or something

Also well done OP on going through with it, I remember your thread. Thanks for coming back to show off. Keep it up and the world is your oyster

That is a thing of beauty, anon. MOT, you say? Very nice. Might I ask your procedure for laying arcs on the wood? I'd like to do this also. Congratulations, you're a trendsetter.
>>
>>1010773
I dont know what MOT stands for 'microwave oven transformer' maybe?, but if you look up "Lichtenberg figures on wood" Youll see the more examples of it, and you can find some cool youtube videos of guys doing it, its kinda dangerous if your an idiot, but this is /diy/ so if you fuck up its on you, but you should be smarter than that and be safe while doing your projects. I used a 2000 volt microwave transformer i pulled out of a old microwave, the cord from same microwave and some jumper cables, ive already posted a pic of my setup, and you can look how to do it fairly easily.
>>1010760
Oh god, i saved it but its like 20 images. lemme try something

Error file too large, and im too lazy to find a way to chop it up to post here, so heres an imgur page with it
