I found these in an alley. Pretty sure they are for a cellphone tower. Are they worth anything? Any useful parts inside of them? Any info or funny comments appreciated.

open one up and post pics?

So is "found these in an alley" = "fell off the back of a truck"?
>>
Each is a module and has it's individual chassis. I do have a gps unit i found with these open.
>>
>>1000695
do you have 24V that you need to convert to -48V or some fans? that's all that's really useful in there.
>>
>>1000704
Looking for more info on them. I hooked them up to 24v everything powers up.

I hooked the gps to 24v and got out 10mhz. Looks like it has a local oscillator, would love to figure out how to connect to gps satellites to get the NIST 10mhz.

I am assuming, i have some rf amplifier and microwave antennas. So i might be able to rig something up. Just not 100% sure what this is used for. Came here for some insight. I hooked it up to an antenna, but alas nothing.

It looks like it turns Ethernet into rf. It doesnt look like an oc3 mux, it's just ethenet ports, Maintenance, and rf.

You should check how much power is coming out of those rf ports and see if you're accidentally violating FCC shit by turning those on. But I'd imagine amplifying it for broadcast would be a separate stage
>>
>>1000726
Does not seem to be putting out any rf. Hang the oscope probe by it when it is on. Nothing unusual, the other units seem to put out some rf, but it has to probably be amplified. Not worried about short bursts of rf. Why won't the FCC let me be?

That helps, still looking for info on the gps units. They are made by Trueposition.

Psh, says you.

Any one know anything about Trueposition GPS units? What i would need to get the 10 mhz reference from the satellites with this unit?

it's a point to point radio system. it would be very useful on a farm for instance if you want to connect two buildings that are a few hundred meters apart and cbf digging a trench for ethernet.

surveying and resource exploration. if you dig a well, you want to find exactly where you dug it. it you took a core sample, you want to know exactly where it is. if you buried a barrel full of meth, you want to know where it is exactly in the desert.
>>
>>1000849
I am really interested in using the 10 mHz from gps time keeping to calibrate my signal generator and oscope.
>>
So anyone know anything about GPS?
>>
>>1000844
That's pretty cool.
Good to know that there's a professional product for all those people making cantennae range extenders for their WiFi, only to realize it only works one way.
