Had no idea this existed, let's see if it's good.

That's what I am thinking too. I dislike everything else he's done with the character.

Actually this was before all the OMD bs so it's actually a good mini that pay respects to both the human torch and spidey history. Besides the 90s era you get good callbacks and call forwards to a lot of good moments.I found it to be a real treat as a fan of both characters.

Why not do this at her grave, Peter, you big weirdo?
>>84010222
Just because he's been writing a lot of shit recently doesn't cancel out all the good stuff he wrote in the past
Don't be an idiot
Eh, it was alright

I liked it, thanks for storytiming, OP.

Is this an homage to the old hostess pie ads? I love it
This is pretty much the best thing Slott's ever done. It's a love letter to Spidey and Johnny.
Sad that Slott's gone the way he has.
>>84010807
April Fools Day is probably fun for Johnny
>>84010222
It's actually good.
I still blame the lack of competent editors for his shit on Spidey proper

What else would it be?

Paste Pot Pete better run he is next on Kitty Pryde's list.

I miss Peter being married with MJ.

disappointed no one caught that Ghost Rider reference.

It's accurate to how she was back in those issues.

Glad you feel that way. I assume it was due to my recommendation in the New Ways to Die thread?

I didn't really know much of either character other than the movies and a few random episodes of the Spider-man animated (which mostly confused me, especially the shit on Disney XD that my nephews forced me to sit through). I think I saw the episode where an uncredited Peter Parker is Johnny's photographer, but that FF animated show has painful art and music.
So it's hard for me to know about the call backs other than what I read on sites, but I did enjoy it and wouldn't mind reading more.

I liked the way that the art changed for the eras they were trying to reflect AND I wasn't even reading these books in those time frames or after wards.

It's the best thing Slott has ever done but it's still just a middling fanboy fanfiction. He even put in Franklin playing with action figures which was probably a self-insert of himself as a kid, as his stories read exactly like what a child playing with dolls would think is kewl. And I noticed he plagiarized himself in the latest ASM because he used the "We call it Thursday" (only he changed it to Tuesday) line.
>>84023756
This was surprisingly nice. It actually reads like a Spider-Man comic, everything is all there. Which just baffles me even more as to why Slott's 616 run is such a shitshow. He clearly CAN write the character, and write it pretty well, but he just chooses not to? That just makes me hate him even more.
>>84026749
Maybe the fact that a lot of these issues were set early on meant Slott really made an effort to make the characters and story fit with the setting. I wonder how his recent Spidey origin story with the Shocker ripoff was.
