Gramps has a point he's not even bringing up, even if Jessica doesn't snitch she won't be safe after she's saved. They'll just know she's a priority to the real killer or someone else and her father will get pinched and her mother and even if all 3 try to dip they'll spend their life dipping what's apparently a very wealthy and ruthless group of people so good luck with that.
So he's right, the only move is to wait for them to have no leverage and go to town. Probably because it's used in a very vague way, especially when I was growing up where girls doing anything even remotely unfeminine were labelled tomboys.
I liked dresses and watching shoujo anime and was called a tomboy because I didn't know how to put on make-up. Other girls were called tomboys because they wore jeans and liked to play sports.
