If you've been reading comic books, you've surely seen at least five twists ten times as shocking as the Cap one. Remember that time they were all Skrulls? Or that time Cyborg Superman was evil? How about when Max Lord killed Ted Kord? Or when Booster Gold's robot friend was actually Mister Mind? Remember finding out Red Hulk was actually General Ross?
Fucking Captain Hydra is the stupidest, most transparent twist in history that will be undone by the end of issue six at the latest, because there's no way Marvel would have more than one collected trade of these stories with this plot.

It's because we're witnessing a shift in power when it comes to the big two. When it came to comics Marvel use to seem like the top dog in recent years. However, in the wake of Civil War 2 and Rebirth, more and more people are starting to lean towards DC. Mostly because Civil War 2 was a pile of dog shit, while Rebirth was a fucking master piece. Marvel fags got super defensive and DC fags got super prideful. The rest is history.

To be fair I've never known a time when avid comic readers favored Marvel over DC. Marvel has always been popular but it always seemed like it's readers skewed younger and grew out of comics, while people grew into DC in college or whatever.
The story I hear a lot is that somebody reads a bunch of Spider-Man and X-Men as a kid, gets burned out, then goes into their young adulthood and adulthood hating the genre.
