People expect the princess from the 1400s to be breaking into song with her woodland animal friends, but it gets weird when anthropomorphic animal species meant to serve as race allegories in a modern/futuristic fractured society begin singing about unraveling a mystery.
It's really just a matter of what people are used to, really.
