It's not bad per say as a pin-up, but Diaz has absolutely no sense of paneling or composition. As a comic artist he's piss poor in addition to being a terrible human being. He has no idea how to effectively convey an illustrated story, and any criticism of that has him ignoring it because he's being "experimental" or the basic principles of visual storytelling don't apply to him. Frank Miller hasn't drawn visually appealing characters in decades but even dying of terminal cancer he makes Diaz look like a retarded child when it comes to basic layouts.

Well, I try not to tar transhumanism as a concept with the brush of edgy internet kids dragging it out as the next cool thing. In practice, a lot of the things we do already have a "transhumanist" bent to them. Written language, for instance, is a storage medium. When I was in university, I read a few articles about shrooms permanently altering people's personality for the better.
But like I said, there's virtually no organized transhumanist movement. So I can't legit call it an ideology, or even a concrete group on its own. It's a concept intrinsically linked to science fiction and science itself.

They were decent. The art still stood out compared to the average webcomic.
But the gap between the average and what's considered good has increased. I used to think that Diaz was one of the very few webcomic artists who's work wouldn't look out of place in a comic book store. But the number of artists that produce professional-looking art in webcomics has increased tenfold since then. You got your Unsounded, your Lackadaisy, your Ava's Demon, your SSSS, your Kill Six Billion Demons, the list goes on and on and fucking on. I could click on some random furry comic, and get halfway decent art. This wasn't true when Diaz became a wellknown artist. He stood out. But he got stuck on a plateau, while the rest of the world passed him by.

I used to read it for a while. I've read Hob, and dropped it when the new (current) plot got set up.
It started out as gag comics with a pop science tone. Kimiko (the waifu) was an intermittent character, at best. She was usually there to usher in some punchline or another, and frequently absent. The comic mostly relied on its striking visuals, such as in one of the first comics where Kimiko features more prominently: A comic where she earns money in her dreams, which also shows her in a button up shirt so tight the buttons stand taut over her breasts. He was called out on this. The best part of this comic was always looking good, together with pop science-based non-sequitor punchlines.
With Hob, he moved to more dramatic storytelling and ever-slower updates. It's a story about a robot from the transhumanist/singularity future, and other guys from the future who want to destroy him. It's a mess of a plot, to be honest. I checked out somewhere around this time, and only begrudgingly finished it. The most important thing is, Kimiko was right in protecting the robot, and everyone else was wrong. This is where Diaz turned into the prick we know today.
This storyline concluded, and he moved on to the current one. I've read a few of the early pages, and as far as I can tell it's supposed to be about her bond with father or some shit. I don't know. Diaz is an incredibly obtuse writer who couldn't stitch together a coherent plot if he tried, and he isn't trying. Which makes it all the more hilarious that he spends his time "rebooting" existing franchises to be more politically correct while he should, in fact, be working on his own comic.
I'm convinced he has a personality disorder. The only other person I've ever seen who acts remotely like this was a socialist pedophile who stalked children. They both have the same trait: They always think they're right, and the world is always out to get them.
