I've finally read chapter 2 of "Nervous Anatomy", and I liked it a lot: airhead Jackie is really funny, especially when combined with Star's antics.
If I may have a small nitpick:there seems to be a lot of the text depicting the characters while they remember, think, ponder, wonder, etc. To me, that slightly kills the story momentum, and doesn't enrich it particularly, since you can easily give hints of how Marco and the others feel by just describing what they do or say, IMHO.
But really, that's just a nitpick: love the story, and I'm lo9oking foward to the continuation!

I've also been working on a short dumb fanfiction during my breaks at work that hopefully I'll actually finish. A spell of Star's goes wrong, Marco starts having feelings he's not equipped to deal with, etc. And Janna's involved too! It's not the most original idea, but I'm having fun with it. Haven't written prose since I was in school, but I think it's turning out alright regardless.
I'm something like 1,000 words in(a lot of which is rough outline)-- it'll probably be two chapters, ~3,000 words total? Depending on how lazy I wind up getting with it. There are parts I might chop out because they don't seem like they'll be that fun to write, and I don't really know what I'm doing for the ending, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
