"hellomorningzoo" and "imparfait" on AO3 are writing really good S/K WIPs right now. hellomorningzoo is writing an AU that takes place after "Smug Alert," with Kyle not returning from San Francisco. there is also a prequel fic that is Craig/Stan -- both are excellent, with an esp. good Stan. imparfait's fic is really cute and deals more with Stan's depression when Kyle becomes a congressman. both good, recommended

I just wondered what you thought about the episode overall. It seemed to me that it was written such that if a fujo watched it, she would at no point doubt that the two are really 100% gay the entire time.

I thought it was good take at Americans not understanding parts of Japanese subcultures and making it into something it's not when we actually just like cute boys together for no particular reason. That's it.
Also good friendship development between Craig and Tweek, don't even care if they're not really gay but they seem to be enjoying each others company and that's what's most important. Liked that Tweek stopped twitching and being paranoid all the time. Overall it felt more heartwarming episode while the previous ones were kind of cynical and vicious.

Yeah pretty much this. I think they just thought the fan art was weird (not in a bad way) and made a ridiculous situation play out related to it like they normally do. I think it was more to make fun of the hassle everyone makes over people coming out and the yaoi stuff was just a sort of side gag with no real purpose. It did feel nice though, the other ones of the season have just been about SJWs, which is fine but it hits to close to home to be that light hearted. It's nice to see a fun episode without a serious agenda.
I wonder how many male South Park viewers found the episode uncomfortable.
