Injured bunner in my yard has deep gash and is very very lightly breathing and not moving

Wound looks closed up but dried blood is everywhere

hares are a pest, you're not supposed to do anything.
>>
>>2148861
give it water, maybe a snack like a slice of banana

take it to a vet or a wildlife center

>>2148863
you don't even know where they are, m8, could be a native species
>>
>>2148864
native hares are often invasive.

yeah, in most of the first world a lot of the animals that hunt them have been culled off by angry farmers so the hare population is kind of out of control.
>>
>>2148871
that doesn't make them invasive. invasive literally means non-native, introduced by human activities whether intentional or accidental.

A species doesn't become invasive when there's too many of them.
>>
>>2148872
as long as an organism has a negative effects on a region's economy, environment, or public health it's considered invasive in ecology.
>>
Update: bunner on last legs, he was clawed from midside to his back.

I don't think he's gonna make it.

RIP bunner
>>
>>2148873
little do people know the most invasive species of all is man

Forgot pic

If he pulls through it would be a miracle
>>
>>2148875
we essentially caused hares to be invasive by removing their predators.

atleast they're pretty tasty, unlike their predators.
>>
>>2148874
eat it.
>>
>>2148874
if he's not bleeding here is a chance he could make it, the stress could easily kill him though
do your best to calm him. if nothing else you can make his passing peaceful.
