I've worked in normal game industry where communication with the consumer is generally important and catering to certain things can be of interest, but I don't want to add things that will deter other players.

I've been tossing around thoughts about a much more "raiser"y game, you're a regent who, for plot reasons is making sure that princess is in a good spot to centralize the state and/or hand everything off to a prime minister and/or husband who'll centralize the state (you) and I'd like some thoughts about stats.
The most simplified setup would probably be "Affection, Decadence, Competence" and on the other end they could all be split in two (Loyalty or trust off from affection, separate lust from general decadence, administration and dealing with the nobility.)
Just the three seems TOO simplified. but I'm not sure I'd want to work with six different stats, so which ones do you think would be better to have split up?

Yeah I'm a big anime fan, and one of that specifically, good catch. I am using that scene as a reference, when I do the actual drawing I'm not sure how similar it'll be. I want atleast the characters to be different as well as their armor, most of the animations and character posing I take from other games/anime. Like I said in previous threads I'm a developer first, an artist and writer second/third.
If I'm ripping anything, it's pretty much only poses, some armor/clothing, and maybe some biting of story here and there.
For example, the first set of armor I was making is based off of a set from "seikishi melty lovers", it's all hand drawn to fit my character's paper doll, though.

Taimanin is a vn that pretty much makes it clear they kill shit even if you don't take part otherwise I see no reason that they would carry around weapons unless they were fake and cosplaying.
LoQO is a rpg where you kill shit because Gabe couldn't make some level of gameplay where the characters could use their head and try to avoid fighting and if you could do that in the games they would be pretty fucking boring after awhile and any necessary fight would be to op for you unless ofcourse Gabe would make that pointless aswell.
There wouldn't be shit to do after the story ends anon unless you would like something like LoQO2 in which you have like 3 repeatable scenes and some shitty ass pregnancy system. I mean I could also add cuck shit like going back to egypt with Opala and them or Asagi's village.
The time limit isn't nessacary but there would be zero amount of interesting stuff to do after the protag leaves school and it will be a struggle to have stuff in multiple years of school and I have no interest in moving shit over to college or anything after that because it would be pointless.

-Added "let Rogue sleep in your room" option, which occurs whenever she happens to be in the room and you try to turn in. Let me know how this one works for you. This also involved tweaking how you sleep in her room a bit, so let me know if anything weird happens there.
-Tweaked the "knocking on her door" elements a bit, but haven't added in the "let you knock even if you have a key" option yet. Next build, probably.
-Tweaked the addiction dialogs a bit, they should feel a bit more natural, and in the repeatable version of it should more accurately reflect whether you have helped her at all, a little, or a lot with a given interaction. The goal in those encounters is to get her at least below 40%, otherwise she won't be satisfied by it, and that may take multiple rounds of contact, depending on the activity.

There are two questions you need to ask when building stats. What makes each stat interesting, and what makes each combination of stats interesting? You'll need a gameplay element that corresponds to each statistic to make it meaningful. Similarly, you need to ensure that each major combination of statistics tells a good story.
Keep in mind, you don't have to bundle all the stats together. For example, her popularity among the commonfolk, nobility, religious organization, and military may be completely distinct from her normal stats. Individual events (erotic and otherwise) would tweak her popularity accordingly, but it won't feel like you have twenty different statistics.
Overall, focus on the stories you want to tell, and build the stat block based on the differences between each branch and the reason a play may want to experience that combination.

Very true. A lot of games have a problem where there will be one or two stats that go in a single direction, and the gameplay consists of repeating events to make the number go up. As you say, it would be better to just do a linear story in these situations.
Stats can do well, however, when the game morphs and changes depending on how several stats interact, and the player can manipulate the stats in multiple directions to adjust the game.
To go with the regent-grooming-the-princess idea above, various stats could allow the player to mold the monarch in different directions. If one player wants an extremely competent ruler with a pristine reputation who secretly enjoys being utterly dominated in the bedroom and another wants a decadent harlot who's lavish orgies keep the nobility enthralled, that could theoretically be done by manipulating different stats over time.
Of course, the author still has to write it, and the more complex it gets, the more scenes and variables will be required. Such is life.

Pretty much. They keep breaking events when they change the interface or systems, and then try and fix it. In theory anyone can just start to add events, but most teachers/PTA don't have any sort of 'end', their event chains just end halfway before you actually subvert them except for one or two exceptions. There's a HHS game that actually finishes mostly thats more low tech but uses many of the same pictures.
I hear ashford academy is finished, but I never got out of the opening months without burning down the school, and playing the saves that have everything unlocked isn't very interesting.
