While no one is as important as Gappy I still feel a lot of the side characters get enough attention and time to shine, heck even the rock men got an extra showing during the flashbacks. Some characters specially get to develop a lot (Yasuho, Norisuke, Tsuguri) without being more of the focus than Gappy.

Imagine if you found Narancia before Buccellati's gang took care of him. Imagine you find him rummaging through your trash. You take him inside and treat him. But you have much different plans than they ended up having.
First, you take care of his health. He really grows a lot of trust in you because of it. Over time, though, you begin implementing small punishments that he doesn't even realize. These aren't like the outbursts Fugo would have. Not at all. They're quick enough for him to not retaliate, but harsh enough that it instills a fear and servitude in him. His trust and fear are both very high in you. He soon sees you as basically, his owner.
Eventually, you decide to finally enact your plan. You know that, even with how well you trained him, he would reject it and try to get away, it's a natural reaction for any person. But you think to yourself of how you will relish his struggling. You gather your tools: a cement saw, plenty of towels, and a lot of alcohol.
You walk over to Narancia's bed and strap him in, then take care to put some towels underneath his joints. He begins stirring, and you can't help but let out an aww at his cute face, and he looks up at you groggily.
Without wasting too much more time you grab the saw. First, you decide to take his right leg. As soon as it touches his skin you hear him begin to scream. Oh, how erotic his raw terror makes you feel, how giddy you are. He starts with cries, and then moves on to threats. By the time you make it halfway through the second leg, his voice is already hoarse and his face is drenched in sweat and tears, and even blood (he bit his own tongue at some point).

You kind of can't beat Alucard since he's so OP. Literally the only JJBA character that stands a chance is GER. JJBA was never meant to be about power levels which is why there's never really been power creep and you can find a plausible way to defeat almost any character. I don't see why people care about these vs things so much. Most anything in any other shonen or seinen series would beat most things in JJBA purely because of scope or scale. JJBA has always been small scale (save for the end of Part 6 but that was the point) even when the characters themselves have had massive scope to their plans.

The first four OPs had references for plenty of shit that hadn't been established yet. The thing I love the most about the new OP is the references. The ending where Josuke punches away all the arrows symbolizing stand users and reaches out towards Kira to grab him symbolizing the chase and struggle to get him and also foreshadows Kira's own fate as he turns around towards the hand behind him with ambulance lights in his eye is incredible.
